Psychographic Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 This thing still just falls together. I looked at the the pocket where the chute fits and decided to fill it in, in hope that would be just enough of a styling point and match the overall design of the car. I layered some strips to get the contour, Sanded it to shape, and then added a strip of half round to the top.
Hedgehog Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 This is a good custom-made ride keep on this proyect and keep on posting because it's eye candy.
Psychographic Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 The license plate box is gone and I continued the center design to the roll pan. A much cleaner look.
bigphoto Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 (edited) Very interesting! It looks like a Toronado from the side view! Edited June 10, 2012 by bigphoto
Psychographic Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 I got some primer on most of the body, I left the nose bare as I will be redoing the headlights. Threw the taillight lenses on to get an idea of how it will look.
RedBanditCustoms Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Lookin great so far! Quite an interesting kit!
Psychographic Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 A little more work, the grille openings are boxed in and I'm working on some projector beam headlight housings. I'm not sold on the lights yet, and yes, I know one side is drilled crooked. I'm also trying to figure out the bottom body line. I like what I have on the front, the back needs some work. This is after the first round of filler.
Jantrix Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 What are your thought son a the engine? I think something modern would look great.
FASTBACK340 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Dude, your nuts.... Where do you get these ideas?!?! I love watching your builds go together and can't wait to see where this goes. Another great idea.
Psychographic Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 Why would we need a smaller back window?
Psychographic Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 It's now a hatchback. I made a frame for the back window and cut the body along the window trim line and down the trunk. I cut the back out of the interior tub and made new sides for the rear hatch section. I need to figure out the rear suspension, before I can do the rear floor for the interior. I also cut out the hood and started on a firewall.

Bartster Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 l Hope you're planning on trailering this queen with your Fireball Camino? Very inspiring! Bart.
Terror Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 this is the best rendering I've ever seen of this car.Nice job man
Abell82 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) I have to wonder if '65 Buick Riviera hideaway headlights wouldn't fit the theme better, for your build? Edited June 25, 2012 by Abell82
Psychographic Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 I have to wonder if '65 Buick Riviera hideaway headlights wouldn't fit the theme better, for your build? I had thought of using the Rivvy lights, but decided against it in the end. I got a little work done on the interior tub, at least it's not flopping all over the place now. The wheel tubs are next.
MAGNUM4342 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 VERY stylish redo of a Monkeemobile. I love this one!
Psychographic Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) Not sure where I'm going with this, but I'm definitely going somewhere. Edited June 28, 2012 by Psychographic
Dirkpitt289 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 This is one creative build. I was thinking of adding the front clip of the Monkee mobile to something myself at one time. This is fantastic. I look forward to seeing more
Psychographic Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) The tubs are roughed out. First I made one long tube, fit it to the interior tub and then trimmed it to fit the body. Then I cut two side pieces to the tube, cemented them in place, then cut out the center section. Edited June 26, 2012 by Psychographic
Psychographic Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 I just need to add the driveshaft tunnel and the conversion to a hatchback interior tub is done. Now to figure out some kind of interior. I've got lots of room to play with.
