Badluck 13 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) After I finished my Revell Snap Kenny,I was planning to work on my "Annie" build but she is kickin' my rear, the frame is warped and I am having a heck of a time to get her level so I am gonna start on this Pete as a "tweener".....Hopefully I learned from my mistakes on the Kenny and do a lil' better this time....Just wish I would have used the Pete as a guinea pig instead of the Kenny.....Ohhhhh well The box we all know.... The main colors...... The start...wish me luck, cuz I'm gonna need it....any ideas or tips always welcome and helpful.... Edited September 20, 2012 by Badluck 13
Jim B Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Have fun with this kit. It does go together well, but as usual the tires are bad. One thing that I ran into with my build was the pins for the grill were too long, and hit the radiator causing the hood not to close properly.

Hey Jim,thanks for the heads up on the grille, thats "if" I have a grille for it,at closer look at the chrome on the grille and rear wheels found out the chrome is "hazed" real bad.... Just a little update.....filling in the seams and "snap" holes..... Not a "Fan" of the molded in fan assy....... The after effect.... Filling the seams on the engine assy.... The finished look... Filling in the holes in the back of the bunk like I did on the Kenny.. .....And also on the lower front of the cab... .....And the fuel tanks.... ...That's all for now, comments and or ideas always welcome, good, bad,or ugly.......Thanks for lookin'
signguy2108 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I bought 4 of these the other day for a couple of projects and parts. So far all the tires have gone together well. One of the best things revell did was the cardboard piece inside the box to keep it from crushing!
MyBradKeselowski Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) Is this close to or the same exact color used on the 1996 Impala SS? I was just wondering since it states GM and it says 1996. I like that color as I have a AMT/ERTL 95 Camaro that I want to paint in this color ... Edited June 13, 2012 by MyJoeyLogano20

Badluck 13 Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 I'm planning on going to Michaels tomorrow to get one . What's the problem with the tires ? Some of the tires are warped out of shape and do not sit on the rims proper,I have seen this on other builds, but knock on wood my Kenny and this Pete all have good tires.....
camaro73 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Very nice! The fenders are on backwards though. Other than that, I like where these are going. Edited June 13, 2012 by camaro73
signguy2108 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Rear steps are removed from fenders. I may be getting old, but I can still see! These pics used the same pair of fenders for both shots. day cab will still have the step on rear of fenders. Haven't decided on color for day cab yet. Edited June 13, 2012 by signguy2108
camaro73 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Okay. I thought I saw the steps in the front. My bad. These are going to look good once you are done with them.
clayton Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I'm a big sleeper guy my self,Did not think the snap would look that good with one. Great job!
Badluck 13 Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 A lil' more done, mostly seams and "snap" holes..... Sleeper bunk with snap slots filled in.... Took Roberts advise on the intake because I never noticed on the Kenny until now...thanks for the tip Robert!!! Again had to do something about the overly bracketed mud flaps.... Before After.......Again comments and or suggestions always welcome....thanks for the tips and advice and also thanks for lookin'

The frame looks black in the picture but is actually a dark maroon pearl
Badluck 13 Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 A few more... Guages are a lil messy but don't show as bad as the camera shows Thanks for lookin'
camaro73 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Awesome job on the dash! It all looks great Mike.
truckabilly Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The dash really stands out. Maybe a drop of Future or any clear to each instrument would bring a glare effect. Nice job on the build so far.
