FASTBACK340 Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Amy & myself were waiting to get into Citi-Field last night for the Mets game when Eddie Trunk & Jim Florentine walk past us. For those into heavy rock know Eddie from his VH-1 gig "That Metal Show" on Saturday nights. We had an opportunity to thank him for a cool show and shake his hand, and let them go watch the game even though I had approximately 6,000 questions I could have asked him. I didn't even bother going for the phone for a picture... it was that quick. This Dude drank with Lemmy and sat close enough to Marilyn Manson to catch an STD. Man did I have questions....
cobraman Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Who ? I guess I am just too old to know. Glad you had a good time.
FASTBACK340 Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 (edited) And the Mets won. As a matter of fact, a few minutes ago we just swept the Orioles! Edited June 21, 2012 by FASTBACK340
1930fordpickup Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Were is Nu Yawk and who are these Mets you are talking about? LOL
Casey Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I love watching that show, and don't even like heavy metal.
Brizio Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Never heard of 'em... Me too. I had to google them...
Monty Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I love watching That Metal Show. They continually strive to get the most sought-after guests their audience could wish for, and Eddie's near-encyclopedic knowledge of hard rock/heavy metal information make "Stump the Trunk" one of the best segments of the program.
Mike Kucaba Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I guess this is just a way of respecting those you idolize. When I parked Alice Cooper at an event, the only thing I said to him was "could you back up and straighten out?"
Chuck Most Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Looks like I might need to start watching VH-1 again.
jamesG Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 good show. wish they would spend more time on the guests though.

my80malibu Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I have heard that its very easy to get Lindsey Lohan to run into you
CorvairJim Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 A couple of weeks ago my wife and I took my folks out to dinner at a nice little restaurant in Morgantown, about 20 miles from Reading PA. This was parked out in front of the place: ... and the legend himself was siting inside enjoying a pleasant PA Dutch dinner with his wife and a couple of friends (There had been a huge Mopar event at Maple Grove Raceway that weekend).I was raised to be too polite to interrupt a man when he's eating, so I didn't actually get to meet him.
FASTBACK340 Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 Where in Morgantown? I used to live in Ephrata and have friends in New Holland. As a matter of fact, whenever ever I visit I take that exit and take the scenic route into the Ephrata/ Denver area.
my80malibu Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I was in a Ruby Tuesday restaurant and the table next to mine Santa Clause was there having dinner .

Right there with ya Jim... In 2000 during the USGP weekend at Indy, my wife & I just about ran over the legendary Phil Hill (1st American F1 world champion for those that don't know) and his wifey in a crowded eatery. I too wasn't going to interupt them, but now that the legend is gone, I sure wish I'd been rude for a moment and asked for an autograph But back on topic, love the work Eddie does for hard rock/metal, just wish I got VH1 classic...
mikemodeler Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I love watching that show, and don't even like heavy metal. I like the education aspect of this show. While I am not a huge metal head, I do enjoy learning about music and the stories and characters are pretty wild! I ran into Eddie Van Halen about 5 years ago here in Charlotte when they did their first re-united show with Diamond Dave. Like you, I just said thanks and have a nice day, I am sure he probably expected me to ask for pictures or an autograph but I figured he needed some rest after dealing with David Lee Roth!
Dragline Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 My life is one big Metalfest and I'm not the biggest fan of that show. I've forgotten more about Metal than those guys know, and that's the truth. But it's better than nothing so i watch. B

Dragline Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 All kinds bro. Mostly technical stuff but I do like to just thrash out often. Animals As Leaders newest album is my current kick. Bob
