cartpix Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I read all 72 pages, today. Awesome amount of work. It's amazing how great it's turning out, with all the 1st time techniques, you are doing. Make sure to take pictures, when you blow it up with firecrackers. LOL
fantacmet Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) SOB, man, I've got my milling machine now, and I could probably pull of the block, heads and valve covers without too much trouble, no way with the rest of that on there so far without CNC. Though I didn't get a rotary table with it. Oh well. Edited February 7, 2014 by fantacmet
nchogberg Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Hey VintageDragFan, Maybe a dumb question, but is operating a mill like working an etch-a-sketch? I've been looking at some smaller hobby mills... Later, Hog
vintagedragfan Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 thanks for all of the interest guys, really do appreciate it, I guess I kinda took the winter off when it got pretty cold and I didn't feel like freezing in the garage, it still sits on the bench just as I left it, last time I worked on it I spent hours making 2 inter-coolers that ended up not fitting where I planned, got a little disgusted with it and haven't touched it sense, lol, I am getting the itch to work on it again, so maybe have an update soon thanks again for all of the interest and support!!
FASTBACK340 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Glad to hear you didn't step on it like SOME people do to their problem builds…. Hope to see some progress Bill.
Skypower Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Looking forward to seeing your update such an amazing build.
GoatGuy Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I understand the cold weather problem Bill. In the winter I can only do small parts painting. No place/booth for spray can or airbrush. Really looking forward to more of your work.
BIG NICKY Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 after taking the last three days to scroll thrugh all 72 pages all I can say is WOW!!!!!!
Art Laski Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I am getting the itch to work on it again, so maybe have an update soon thanks again for all of the interest and support!! I hope so, Bill. Your work is an inspiration to all of us! -Art
DavidG Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I just found this site and I must say that I'm impressed, not just with this aluminum hemi build, but ALL the models I've seen so far. Bill, please let me ask ... will there be a time soon when we could see this build in person? Oh, and one other question... If I'm willing to drive over to visit, may I help you bleed the brakes?
DavidG Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 ,.. last time I worked on it I spent hours making 2 inter-coolers that ended up not fitting where I planned, I somehow feel that your 'cuda will make plenty of horsepower even without those intercoolers. Haha
vintagedragfan Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 thanks to all who have been checking in, I appreciate the support, I did actually get some long over due bench time in, I got the brake rotors made for the rear disc's, they are vented and drilled, each rotor has 78 holes in it total, took some time! also got the flanges made and installed on the rear housing time to start on the calipers and brackets to mount them, thanks for looking
Mooneyzs Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Bill.... it is so great to see youback at the bench. This is nothing short of fantastic. You are one talented builder for sure and I look up and admire yoir work. those have to be some of the nicesr rotors. Very nice work. I sure hope you have another 1/16th scale build after this build.... hint hint . Already looking forward to your next update Edited May 30, 2014 by Mooneyzs
MADDOG Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 OMG! I am so glad you are back on the bench. Thanks for sharing.
Platerpants Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 very impressed and glad to see this build is still alive
John Teresi Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Bill……..we all had a good run while you were absent…….but, now the "Sheriff" is back in town and we are all in trouble……..good to have you back my friend…….KILLER work
Alyn Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 lovely little bits of jewelry, Bill. The spacing of the various holes are deadly accurate. You must have some secret computer driven laser drill hidden in an underground workshop, three stories below the surface. You have come up for air and blind us with your machining brilliance. I was recently thinking of how Mark and John had raised the bar so high it could go no higher. No more raising the bar. Then you show up and what do you do; raise the bar. Way to go, buddy. I'll look forward to seeing the finished car at this years Heartland.
