Dr. Cranky Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) What started out like this: End it up looking like this: Edited August 19, 2012 by Dr. Cranky
Dr. Cranky Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 But wait, we are not done, and THAT ended up looking like this:
Dr. Cranky Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Donn says all it is missing is the grill . . . I am sure he will chime in shortly.
crazyjim Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Super SHINY :) . Way to go Donn. If a grill was there it would be difficult to fill the gas tank.
GoatGuy Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Wow that looks great. Awesome paint and details. 1/25 ?
MoparWoman Jamie Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Nice! but isn't there pose to be black weather striping around the rear windows?
Rob Z Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 SWEET!!! Don has some of the shiniest paint jobs I've seen...
LoneWolf15 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 A spin through The Gasser Wars book prompted me to build a match race car , hence the exaggerated nose stance . Body and frame color are a custom mix of Testors enamels . Decals are a mixed bag from the Slixx sheets . Detail Master fittings and wire were used throughout the build . MAD distributor & ignition box , MAS steel tubing , Bob Dudek aluminum Moon tank and bug catcher round it all out . Interior is done up in aluminum , indigo blue, and orange with masking tape belt harness & Detail Master hardware . Frame and motor were slightly weathered with Alphacolor earth tone pastel chalks . As for the rear weather stripping in the back , it's a roundtoit deal . Once I install the grill , I'll probably touch the rear windows in . On an interesting note , concerning the front and rear windows on this car ...... Gasser Wars photos show the weather stripping either painted over or with the windshield , non existent in the later years . The latter day Mazmanian Willys was a prime example of this . Thanks for the kind words of praise , they are greatly appreciated !
Sixx Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 AWESOME Willys old man!!!! LOL!!! For real though, that is cool! Thanks for posting it Doc!!!!
