The70judgeman Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Revell '32 Ford Sedan. Kept it pretty simple. No wires or after market stuff. Only parts out of the box. Paints; Body: Model Master Olive Drab Grille and interior: Floquil Caboose Red Wheels and engine: Rust-Oleum Bright Red Frame and trim: Floquil Engine Black Cleared with Model Master Semi-Gloss White Walls hand painted: Floquil Reefer White and cleared with Model Master Matte Clear Can't get a decent picture of it, but the shifter is a bent white topped "Bridal" pin and shifter boot is glue and paint formed paper towel. H.A.K Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Don't know about the tires, need to be skinnier. But over all real kool.
rmvw guy Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I Like it a lot! Nice looking hot rod, just one thing, I have to say it....ahh never mind, I'm sure you already know. You had me at "no wires or after market stuff."
Dr. Cranky Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 I like it, nice job on the colors and paint.
CEKPETHO BCE Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I like the details on this build. Very nice.
DanR Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I like the color combination on the body as well as the contrast with the red up front.
peter31a Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Very cool rod! Like the choice of paint colours.
The70judgeman Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Thanks guys. A little on the paint scheme...originally I was going for a WWII aircraft theme, but gave up after not being able to find the decals I know I have somewhere. Was going to be called the "Flying Tiger" based on the P-40 Warhawk(see the pictures). Got the car all painted before I looked for the decals, couldn't find them, and just finished the model. Calling it done obviously. Edited September 10, 2012 by The70judgeman
deathskull59 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 now that how a real hot rod street rod should look with out the funny looking glass fenders big rims and modern corvett moter.
CEKPETHO BCE Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Are those white walls decals or painted on?
The70judgeman Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Are those white walls decals or painted on? They're painted on...a couple of layers. And then clear coated with a matte clear.
Jantrix Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I really like th color scheme. I like how you painted the cowl that flows into the body line. The model A tail lights are a cool touch. Well done.
slusher Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Really cool and unique build. Nice work..
scalenut Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 it's a blessing in disguise you didn't find the decals , the color scheme works really well , I would never thought of it.!
outlaw035 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 andy...thats just so "KQQL"...like everything about it....
Danny Lectro Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 At first, I wasn't too sure about the red radiator shell. Now that I see the inspiration for it, I totally get it. Great job, Andy!

Great job, Andy! Thanks. I know what you mean about the red. The hood top, which I left off, is also red which I omitted. It was too much. It looks better without it anyway and the engine exposed.
