slusher Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Was watching speed channel tonight. Why is everything they show a re-run.?? Pass time,Gerz, hot rod tv and everything else unless its nascar is a re-run.
Rob Hall Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I wish they would get rid of the dumb 'reality' shows and show more racing...DTM, WTCC, WRC, V8 Supercars, etc...they've shown a little bit of these series but it seems less this year than last year...

Pass time,Gerz, hot rod tv and everything else unless its nascar is a re-run. Welcome to the new SpeedTV It would take half the night for me to explain what is going on, but to sum it FOX who owns Speed, is thinking about flipping the Speed Tv to an all sports network to compete with E$PN, so right now, they dont want to spend any money on making their own programing. The people in charge seem to think that NASCAR shows during the week other then Race Hub would get any viewers, and here is an itersesting tidbit about Race Hub, NASCAR had to force Speed Tv to create a Mon-Thur NASCAR program, it was put in the contract, at first Speed said no to it or any other weekly NASCAR show So and all honesty, no really knows why its all reruns of crappy automotive shows on Speed, but if you really care, here are some links for you to read, and you get a lot more insight as to what I am saying. There is also a rumor going around that Speed is dropping F-1 race coverage, I can not find alot of info on that right now, so I am not sure where that is coming from. R.I.P. martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Every thing is reruns until late September! but Speed is a little better then Spike Channel, Power Block is alway's showing Reruns. OVER HAULIN, is coming back in October all New. Not true, cable/sat networks do not have the same new programming schdule as OTA net works, the summer has been filled with new series on alot of the networks like USA/TNT/TBS/COM. The thing you are forgetting is that SpeedTV is or was to be about racing, racing does not take a break during the summer months, there is plenty of stuff out there that SpeedTv could fill the time slots with programming, but they chose not too. They keep getting rid of any show that cost them money, and stick to buying reruns from other networks because its cheaper. I
Austin T Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I miss "American Trucker" great subject matter.
martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I miss "American Trucker" great subject matter. That was a good show
Rob Hall Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) There are a few shows on Velocity I like, among them Wayne Carini's 'Chasing Classic Cars' and the British 'Wheeler Dealers'. There was another reality type show I tried to watch on one of the channels...Graveyard something...it had a bunch of cool Mopars, but the actors were so moronic I couldn't watch more than 15 min. martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I really need to get HD service with Directv, kind of just wasting the flat screen by not having it , I would like to have the Velocity network, and as of a few weeks ago, the NASCAR Directv Hot Pass is now only for HD service, which is ok for me, I hardly used it
jeffs396 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I sure miss Texas Hardtails http://youtu.be/qY2y1O-upCE
martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I miss NASCAR Inside Winston cup/Inside NASCAR Inside Nextel Cup Tottaly NASCAR (FOX sports ) NBS 24/7 Wind Tunnel W/ Dave Despain on Sun-Thurs The old Wind Tunnel format The old NVL when they hosted the show from victory lane the first version of Track Side 7 Days (NASCAR ) Behind the Headlights AutoWeek on Speedvision/SPEED Inside NBS NASCAR Nation This Week in NASCAR The Car Show, I was starting to like it a little bit
Ben Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I like how the cable companies can delete channels but they just don't ever lower the amount you have to pay for your cable bill!
Guest G Holding Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 You should go back to the day with 3 networks...THATS IT.... Yup...thought that might stop the nonsense...But why ? some need to beach.
Guest G Holding Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 That means Wide World of Sports is it!
Ben Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 You should go back to the day with 3 networks...THATS IT.... Yup...thought that might stop the nonsense...But why ? some need to beach. LOL, Oh, I remember those days! I wasn't paying a hundred bucks a month for those three channels though!
mrmike Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 As a youngster, I remember playing with the antenna rotor until I burned out the motor. Opps! I never told Dad (RIP) that I caused the burnout. I didn't want to make the Ol' Sarge mad as I would have been beaten within an inch of my life! Ahh, the good old days!
iBorg Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I would love to have the Back in the Day series on Speed without Dale Jr's comments. Good show with a moronic commentator makes for a bad show.
bigphoto Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 That means Wide World of Sports is it! That was a great show as it covered everything!
Rob Hall Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 That was a great show as it covered everything! Yep..that show was a favorite of mine as a kid..

Wheeler Dealers is the second-best English motoring show, right after Top Gear. It's unfailingly entertaining and informative. Edd and Mike are the best!
Jordan White Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) Yup, Wheeler Dealers seems like it would be dry and boring like Motorweek or This Old House, but it's oddly entertaining. Edited September 14, 2012 by Jordan White
hooterville75 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I wish I could get the Velocity channel. They carry a lot if not most of the Star Mazda Road to Indy races. One of my great friends Sage Karam from Nazareth races in the Star Mazda series in the #88 Comfort Revolution Andretti Autosport car. Would be awesome to get to see his races live which you can do on Velocity but I cant get access to that Channel.
martinfan5 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 You might be able to find it online somewhere, I have learned that if its on TV, its online somewhere try justintv.com, they stream a lot of stuff live, then there is speed 2.com as well, but you have to have a cretain cable provider to use it
hooterville75 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Same way with espn3.com . You have to have a participating cellular or cable provider to be able to access it. Thank god my parents have Comcast as their tv provider lol. I just snag my mothers sign on and password to be able to view espn3.com I'm a big fan of the Barret Jackson Auto Auctions on SPEED TV. Don't care if they're reruns or not lol.
martinfan5 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I wonder if Directv will ever become one ?, speaking of BJA, a few years ago we went to Vegas for my bday, we there Fri-Sun, and for two days I kept seeing people walking around wearing BJA passes, I didnt put two and two together tell Sunday when we were leaving the Auction was in town , and to add insult to injury, we were staying in the Luxor, which is right next to Mandalay bay , or one more over
