hooterville75 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 LOL. Talk about disappointment lol. So since you missed it your last trip, sounds to me like you should start checking the BJA schedule and next time they are in Vegas you should schedule to attend which would give you another trip or vacation to Vegas ha ha.
hooterville75 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I doubt Directv will ever because from my dealings with Directv they are all about themselves and not in it for their customers. If it weren't for the fact Ive been a Directv customer for years now I would switch to Dish because Ive been frustrated with Directv for years now. I did however just recently move and for the moving pack they gave me the NFL Sunday Ticket for free which totally amazed me.

Dish is the same way, its about the bottom line to both, its finding a lessor of the two evil's really We didnt get didly when we moved, oh well BJA is / was in Vegas this weekend, BJA is always in Vegas right around my Bday, this time its a week before, but sadly, no trips to Vegas anytime soon, oh well
hooterville75 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Never say never lol. Never know what the future holds Mate!!!!!
ZTony8 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hmmmmm. If the Fox morons are considering making Speed an all sports network that explains the kick boxing nonsense I saw being broadcast on there.I punched the station numbers on my remote to make sure I had the correct station. It'll be sad if they do go to that format.

They also air that stuff of F/X, and a few months back, one of the big soccer games was on over 20 cable networks, including all of the FOX own networks minus the news netwrok
hooterville75 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Cant complain about the "Football" games being broadcasted, being an avid Chelsea fan I love to watch Football (Soccer) LOL.
martinfan5 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 At this point the rumors of Speed going to a all sports network is looking be 100% true http://dalyplanet.blogspot.com/2012/09/nascars-version-of-waiting-for-godot.html
hooterville75 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Well, they mise well because they sure arn't promoting very much racing at the present. I noticed that SPEED has been re airing a ton of the Lucas Oil Late Model Series races at "4AM". Thank god for the DVR and recording, being able to watch them at my conveinence lol.
Green Duster Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I wish they would bring back Pinks All Out. With a real car guy as the producer and spokes person. The whole package of the show was good. But Christianson was a joke. He ruined the show at the end. Bring it back with the 2 brothers that were on there. They were the smart ones. Can't remember there names. I watched it for the car stuff. Guess I won't be watching any more.

NBC has (or soon will have) an all-sports network, and I think ESPN has shown that an all-sports network works better than a network dedicated to one type of sport. The TV money for MLB and NFL games is ridiculous, so networks have to chase it to stay in front. Take a look at the recent local TV deals teams like the Anaheim Angels and L.A. Dodgers have signed.

And thats the bottom line, I know a lot of this has to do with the upcoming contract for the MLB, and that FOX wants a bigger part of it. But the thing that I dont understand, is FOX is also rumored to be wanting a bigger part of the NASCAR race's in 2014, so the only thing that people are coming up with is that FOX will move Speed programming to Fuel Tv. It pains me to say this , but I wont miss Speed if it does go all sports, it hasnt been good since the days of speedvision, I hope all the other series of motorsports finds a TV deal somewhere, I enjoy watching them as well Casey, the NBC sports network is going, NBC re-branded the versus network
tooltas Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 they do not show a lot of truck pulling i used to watch nisn up in maine and they had truck &trackter power back in 90's bigfoot and all the big names way before monster jam came to be
hooterville75 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Monster Jam was just on tonight, I imagine it was a rerun but don't know because I didn't tune in. Pinks all out was a joke as it was all scripted. They knew who as going to win before the show was even recorded. It was held at Maple Grove Dragway in Reading, PA not far from me. It was a complete joke. I do like Pass Time. They carry too much car tv shows in a talk show format for me. Im more of a watch the races type of guy. It is what it is, time shall tell.
slusher Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 l enjoyed pinks all out. l wish another network would pick it up with the brothers in the both. never can have too many car shows...
935k3 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The beginning of the end of SPEED channel as we know it. http://totalf1.com/full_story/view/431867/Speed_loses_rights_to_broadcast_F1_in_the_US/ I am sure Lemans will be next to be dropped. Those were the only things I watched on this worthless excuse for a motorsport channel, now I don't need to watch it ever again.
martinfan5 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 You do know that Speed will be come an all sports network next year? So it does not matter that NewsCorp got out bidded by NBC sports and lost the F1 rights in the states SpeedTv is done, sometime next year it should be rebranded Fox Sports1, ok I am not sure when it will take place, but 2013 is what is being reported
deja-view Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Geez...and I paid extra for my satellite service for Speed. It figures!
58 Impala Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) That sucks, one of the only things I watch on Speed is F1. Not to knock other sports, but don't we have enough darn channels for football, basketball, and NASCAR. Edited October 13, 2012 by 58 Impala
peter31a Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 That was my reaction as well. We are inundated with sports channels (at least here in Canada we are). Speed was the only dedicated to automobiles. Perhaps it was far from perfect but I would rather Chop, Cut Rebuild and the like than another stupid hockey, baseball, football, socker or golf game! I have no use for traditional sports and like you pay extra to get Speed, now I'm stuck with another stupid sports channel.
Johnag4004 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Here in the UK we have 33 sport channels on satellite TV, only 1 covers vehicles which is called 'Motors' and that is owned by a french company and as such they mainly cover european motor sports with dubbed commentaries (very annoying)... The other 32 channels are mainly football (soccer to the colonies) and other boring ball type games...
Guest G Holding Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I like SPEED.....Go try to watch NHRA on ESPN....qualifing at 2:00am....and not shown on time due to football running late....
slusher Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Just about everything on speed is reruns anyway...
hooterville75 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 You know the SPEED Channel is in bad shape when you turn it on to watch Formula 1 Debreif and qualifying last night a bit early and they have UFC on. In regards to losing F1, it really doesn't matter to me which network broadcasts F1 as long as I can watch it. Competition is what makes todays world go around and if SPEED got outbid, it is what it is.
bbowser Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Evidently the market for an all-automotive channel isn't there, capitalism will win out after all. I think it's indicative of the decline in motorsports viewing and interest in cars in general. Bummer.
