Burnout Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Not meant to be an exact replica but rather simply inspired by Mickey Weise's Hurst Hemi '68 Dart. In 1972 this car ran with a color scheme similar to this before it was painted the more familiar red with white side panels. Thanks for looking, KB
caine440 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Very nice! I really like the engine detail. What did you use to make the screens for the carb stacks? Great Job!
1972coronet Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I like this a lot . My favourite things : - You scrapped the brake booster ; - The detail painting of the alternator (an all-too-often overlooked item !!) ; - The overall quality of the build . Very nice !!
Mister Twister Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Great looking build and pics as well!
gtx6970 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 VERY nice. I wasn't aware he ran a gold colored car .

tyrone Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 This build turned out GREAT!!! nice, clean, neat build... I especially like the shot from rear...
1320wayne Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Excellent build. That's a great looking model.
Bernard Kron Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Sssssanitary!!!! Nicely detailed, too. Pretty near flawless, I'd say. That's how these cars should be done.
High octane Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Great job on that Hemi Dart as it looks awesome!
W-409 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 This is beautiful, paint job looks very smooth and shiny, great detail on the engine bay and I like those decals & Paint scheme a lot.
gtx6970 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I assume it's these decals http://www.decalsbylucas.com/Cars_of_1968.html
Burnout Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks for all the positive comments guys! Roger, the screens are 100 mesh stainless. They don't really accurately represent anything on the real car. I just thought they looked good. John, the decals are by Lucas and the link in gtx's post above will lead you there. For anyone who likes vintage drag racing, they have a great selection of decals. They are extremely thin and fragile but I think the quality is as good as any around. Thanks again, KB
caine440 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks for the reply. I really like decals by Lucas also, unfortunately I have been waiting 3 months for my last order and my last email has gone unanswered. I hope Rick is ok as i have always had good luck with them in the past.
