TooOld Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Thanks for the encouragement guys ! When I started I wasn't too sure if it would work , but I'm pretty pleased so far . I have a couple more ideas to try then I can start the finishing and figure out the paint scheme . BOB .
crazyrichard Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 awsome stuff , in holland on a big modelbuild forum there was like a contest ounce i remember , the theme was a bit like this create fun and cool fantasy vehicles .. just looks like too much fun to do almost thought put some mechanical looking v8 powered reindeirs in front of it
TooOld Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Here's where I'm at . I changed the front bodywork to clean up the lines a bit , and am planning on the paint and interior to dress it up for Christmas ! I also like Ray's idea of a single red light up front , so I might be renaming it Rudolph ! Edited February 28, 2020 by TooOld
bryan_m Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Very cool Bob! the bodywork on the front is lookin good......im guessin youre painting it red correct? some gold pinstripes would look great on it......... bryan

TooOld Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 oh yea Bob, this is way cool man! Thank you Bill .
bandit1 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Santa's got a new ride Rudolph! What are you going to use as headlights and tail lights?...id think 32 deuce for the headlights and a 59-60 caddy for tail lights (think blues mobile)
JasonFL Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Man, that is the coolest ride I've ever seen for Santa. Rudolph is gonna be pissed...haha. Can't wait to see how you finish this up. You got about 24 days left and counting, you better get cracking.
TooOld Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Just a quick update for those who might be interested . The paint is finished and the pinstriping is done . I started the upholstery yesterday and should have that finished in the morning . The engine is finished and just needs to be installed . There are still a lot of little things that need to be done and after that it's up to Santa's helpers to wrap all the toys and get the sleigh loaded up ! Fourteen days 'till Christmas Eve . . . looks like it will be ready !
Gramps2u Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Chilly Man! Now if only a hot tub & some two legged dear in the back .
TooOld Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Thanks Pat , BK , and Tony ! No hot tub , but there are a couple of Santa's helpers going along for a ride !
pandamonium2112 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 This is AWSOME! I always wanted to recreate that mail truck at the begining of the Christmas show "Frosty the Snowman" Anyone remember that? Like a 29 truck with a flat bed, half track on the back and ski's up front..This thing blows my idea out of the water..or snow..Can't wait for the finish.
TooOld Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Thanks Steve . Only 10 days 'till Christmas Eve . . . it looks like Nick's new ride will be done in plenty of time !
