Mopar - D Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 This is the AMT 63 Crown Imperial with a 413 Hemi. I used Dupli-color Inferno Red metallic with a white and black interior. Added some plumbing and wires. Enjoy comments always welcome . Thanks
realgone58 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Beautiful!!! Right up my alley!! Gorgeous color.........the Inferno red is pretty darn close to '63 Claret metallic. Only thing I must knitpick is the fact that a 413 is a bigblock wedge, not a Hemi. The 413 was the standard engine in the '63 Imperial line.
Mopar - D Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 Alan your correct it is the wedge not the Hemi.
38special Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 It looks great. But i'm just going to throw this out there it'd look even better with some headers coming out of the hood, some mud tires, and welded up doors lol. But no you really did a good job on this.
Harry P. Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Nicely done! A model you rarely see these days. (although the fit of the hood is pretty iffy)...
Dominik Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Like this kind of rare modelkits. Thanks for sharing this beauty!
TooOld Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I've never seen this kit built before , it looks great ! Job well done on a rare kit .
ChevyCoupe41 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Very nice job! Paint job is very nice and engine looks good also.
mr moto Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 That's a great build of a long time favorite of mine! Your color selection is right on. Just a little educational footnote - not taking anything away from the build - that's actually an Imperial Crown and the Crown Imperial was a very different car. I can't imagine how that could be confusing! Crown Imperials were stretch limos that Chrysler had made in Italy by Ghia to be the "ultimate limousine" in their words. Here's a 1963 Crown Imperial:
Mopar - D Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 Manuel, after spending many hours researching the details I missed this one. Thanks for pointing it out.
