cruz Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 Your build looks great. What do you use for washes. When i use metalizer paint the wash i made out of acrlic always makes the part look dirty. I get the contrast effect but the metal will take on to much wash. Any help will be welcomed. Metallizers are not meant to be used as washes my friend. I use MIG washes (google it) they come in various colors and are perfect for this. I would share a picture of the product with you here but I am writing this from my cel....
Gluhead Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Wow. I wouldn't have expected such a tone shift from that Nassau Blue. I'll have to keep that one in mind, because it looks great...especially with the contrasting tones you have going on in the cabin. Good eye there. And hey, where'd your mini anvil come from? I've got one as well, but it doesn't look nearly that spiffy.
mrm Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Great job. Especially on the interior. And the brakes came out outstanding.

cotto Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Another classic from you man, this is awesome. That color is gorgeous and it turned out nice, really goes with that interior. I am wondering if there is a color similar to that one on the real car, it sure would look cool.
cruz Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 Thanks Jay, I don't know but I did find this one under Google, what do you think? Hosted on Fotki

What kind of paint did you use? thanks again for sharing this build. joe. Thanks. The paint on the seats is Tamiya Medium Gray Flat, the other shades of gray are a mixture of Testor's enamels flat gray and the use of black to make the other shade of gray slightly darker.
MD528 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Awesome paintwork on the interior and exterior, job well done!!
slusher Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Cruz did you airbrush the body? it looks awsume...

No dude, i paint the part with metalizers and wash with very thin tamiya black. I have never stuck a brush in a jar of metalizer. I will try the mig washes though they give way better results than my home brew.
cruz Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Sorry my friend, didn't want to belittle you there, I should have looked at the question a little closer but yes, give those washes a try, you will like them.
cruz Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Cruz did you airbrush the body? it looks awsume... Thanks bro, the paint and clear were straight out of the can. I just finished polishing it just now, I will share some pictures tomorrow!
lanesteele240 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Cruz. Are you using the P220 dark wash Or P222 natural wash
Modlbldr Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Cruz Beautiful build so far. I love the colors. Can you briefly explain what you did to detail the panel lines? Did you do it before or after painting the body color? They look so real. Later-

Basically what I do is scribe the lines deeper on the plastic even before I primer it, add the dark wash and that's it, you dont have to go back and do it again and if you do, it shouldn't be a problem....
meaneyme Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Very cool, that is one smooth paint man. I am already wondering how cool the rims would look against the body. This car truly does have some beautiful lines, gotta go and get one for my collection.
cruz Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Kevin, I was playing last night with that... Hosted on Fotki
