2002p51
So far today I have screwed up two separate paint jobs, a Bare Metal Foil job, and one decal job. Suddenly I'm incapable of doing any modeling! I wonder what's on TV tonight?

Bartster
Can l have your stash? JK. Over the weekend l pulled out a body that l consider to have perfect body work done. l don't get much bench time lately, so l wanted to lay down the paint while l had time.....without tacking it! Now it's a beautifully massaged body with dusty paint. Doh!! We all do it, bro!
Joker
I've stripped paint countless times.. My builds are mostly Kustoms and that means lots and lots of sanding primer for the bodywork to be ready for paint...only to have the paint run, bubble, dust specs, dropped parts.. If Murphy can imagine it ..I'll experience it and become a fan of Ol Murph' because it will improve my skill.. One 56 Ford in particular gave me the fits when I tried to do scallops on it. My saving grace was scallop decals. It's one of my favorites because of the trouble and not because of the ease. A 59 El Camino got painted 3 times...a two tone job.. With dominance over my paint failures...it went on to win a online contest. I build for me ..this forum (MCM) just allows us to share our builds...good or bad. XJ6
Dear God, Grant me the Serenity to accept kits with structural defects i cannot correct, The Dexterity not to glue my fingers to the photo etched (or the cat), An artistic Eye to view dirt and pet fur airbrushed on to the surface of my model as "texture", the ability to participate in competitions without treating them as a life and death event, Respect to see a fellow modeler's work as Equivalent or better than my own, Pride in knowing that i did my best despite knowing how badly it sucks, Strengthin my kness and elbows for the hours I spend crawling around on the floor looking For the most important, minute part, The Decency not to read the Tamiya catalogue during Sunday family sit down Dinner, Commitment to attends my child's birth, ballet recital, little league game, parent teacher conference,or high school graduation, rather to go to that "Great Model" swap meet, The resources to be able to finance my hobby and child's college tuition (not just the former), Courtesy not to have the TV permanently set to the "Motorsport" channel, The courage to walk past my work bench with out sitting down to work on my Model When i am running late for work, And the Wisdom to know the difference Between "come to bed now" meaning "Let's have some fun" and "come to bed NOW" meaning " the Models have to go!!
