JamesW Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. So much so that I'm actually considering buying a 1:1. lol
Kaleb Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 James, if your very tall you won't like that car lol. I drove one and I was so scrunched up it wasn't even funny.
JamesW Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I'm gonna go check one out on Monday morning. We'll see how well I fit. LOL
martinfan5 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 So then anyone under 5 10 should be ok, and if you are taller, get one with a sun roof , reminds me of one of the Police Academys, where Bubba Smith take's out the front seat in the Honda Civic so he could fit in it
Kaleb Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 (edited) The girl that had the car was right under shoulder height to me, if that helps. But I even scooted the seat back. We have a civic, well it's my wife's car and I constantly have to move the seat she is 5'0". I'll be glad when I get my mustang up and running so I can set back on the ground again. JamesW Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I'm 6' even. I had a regcab Ranger Splash for a while, if I can fit in that I don't think the Celica should be a problem. LOL
Kaleb Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 O I should be posting what I got lol, I just won a super bird factory sealed off eBay for 17 bucks. And missed out on two 1937 cords that went for 16 bucks including shipping.

rustymodeler Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I found this army kit at my local dollar general for $2, so I bought 4 sets of them. The tank has really nice 1:24 tires and wheels that have pretty nice detail. I also got the 2 59 impalas on a trade and the grand national and the challenger for easter.
Poncho-Power Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 i got the AMT 2012 Corvette Coupe, curbside kit, but all the parts seem to be very nicely done, i was wondering if anyone has finished the kit yet? i would like to see some finished ones...

I also got the 2 59 impalas on a trade and the grand national and the challenger for easter. $2 FOR THAT PLAYSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't found them for any less than $8 at my Dollar General stores. I have soo far bought 4 of them myself. Will be buying some more in the future just to have extra sets for future projects and for trading. I got me another Revell 71 GTX from a co-worker on Sat. Did a lil mock-up of it last night. Not sure weither I should start on it or not as I have way to many projects going at once. PLus I really want to finish at least one of my Power Wagons soon so it can go with me to a Big Mopar show in June! Edited April 9, 2012 by wraith
Casey Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Picked this up today I think I see your 1/12 '57 Chevy crying a tear in the background.
Olskoolrodder Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 NOW the mailman delivers these from eBay,LOL! (after buying others locally Saturday)... Also, picked these up Saturday as well, just forgot to shoot/post a pic...
deja-view Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Got this swell '73 Vega promo from ebay, for less than the price of a resin body. Mint condition, and amazing how it could have survived untouched all these years. Now I'm gonna make it into a modern style street machine. -MJS That's really nice. What are the vents in the rear deck for???
Scuderia Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Here's what i got, surprisingly NOT a Mustang of some sort..
1320wayne Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Mailman delivered my 55 Chrysler 300 today. Awesome kit.
Rob Hall Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) That's really nice. What are the vents in the rear deck for??? Ventilation..I've read that many GM models adopted a flow-through ventilation system for '71 (the new-for-'71 B-,C-, and E-bodies and the Vega, for instance) but most moved to a different design in '72 (after issues w/ the '71 design including draftyness) but maybe the Vega kept it a bit longer? Or MPC didn't update their tooling.. Edited April 10, 2012 by Rob Hall
deja-view Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Hmmmm...kinda like the vents on the back of my '73 vette coupe, I guess. I never thought of them as being for the flow through, but that makes sense. Thanks.
Mike Kucaba Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I broke down and went to the LHS and bought the '55 Chrysler. I did a quick grok and it sure reminds me of when I first grokked AMT's '57 Chrysler.
