cobra98 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Flea market goodies...both rolls kits are complete & un-started not bad for 8 bucks
wgflatliner Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 picked up the 68 dodge dart recently, 75 duster funny car, 55 chevy hardtop 2n1, 70 challenger, and a couple 32 3-window and 5-windows. picked up a food dehydrator to help with paint curing.
ra7c7er Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Sunday I picked up a Revell BMW 635csi (original 1981 release) still sealed and in mint condition. I paid a bit more than I wanted to for it but BMWs are my favorite cars and they are hard to find in model kits. You should have been there to see the dealers jaw drop when I ripped that plastic off right in front of his booth. I can't wait to build it but I have to clear a couple other projects out of the way first.
Greg Cullinan Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Picked up a few kits over the last week. And found silly putty at the market, I've seen it used by others and figured it will come in hand. The 72 Cheyenne is a double, didn't realize I had it til I was putting it away. The 64 Chevy wagon is built and unpainted, have an unbuilt as well. The force 440 picked up for $30(which I thought was a good price),its open, sealed inside. And the 67 Impala vert is a double with a triplet on the way.
Railfreak78 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Greg. I don't have a lot to offer but if you want to trade anything for that Force 440 let me know. I just offered $30 on ebay for a build one missing pieces and lost grrr
ra7c7er Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 From Craigslist I got this about 20 minutes ago. AMT Kraco Special March 88c (open) MPC Dan Gurney's Olsonite Eagle (sealed, 95 reissue) AMT/Dirtrack Racecars Supermodified/sprintcar (sealed, 06 issue) AMT Grant King Sprint Car (sealed, 86 issue) Revell Steve Kinser Quaker State Sprint Car (sealed, 98 issue) Monogram #3 Goodwrench Monte Carlo (sealed, 95 issue) AMT 39/40 Ford Coupe (open, 86 issue) MPC Pontiac Fiero (sealed, 83 issue) Monogram TMC Trucking Sprint Car (sealed, 88 issue) MPC 10th Anniversary Trans AM (open, 80 issue) Paid a bit more than I wanted but for all the sprint cars I had to get the rest.
highway Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Monogram TMC Trucking Sprint Car (sealed, 88 issue) Robert, is there a way you could scan the decals from that kit and email them for me? I'd like to have them to build a TMC truck.

I don't have a scanner but my girlfriend thinks they might have a scanner at her work. She said she would check tomorrow.

I just offered $30 on ebay for a build one missing pieces and lost grrr I appreciate the offer, this is a kit that I have been after and have been outbid trying to acquire.Crazy thing is I've lost at 50 dollars and I think I've seen someone had a buy it now of $100.
Guest Johnny Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I got it Saturday but it is a 63 Watson Roadster! It is a built up and 100% complete! It was hand painted brown and was evidently in a smoking enviroment for a long time at some point! The guy that GAVE it to me (a member on Randy Ayers site) said it was given to him by a friend so he just passed it on. I was looking for parts when he posted it. It is an original issue with treaded rubber tires!!! Well I disassembled it and it is just too good to use for parts so I will try and cast the wheel and engine half (or try and get someone to cast them for me) and build two of these cool cars! So later today i will head over to the kids house and put the parts in the purple pond and see how clean it will come! Most of the exposed chrome was covered with a thick brown crud from smoke and dust the plating destroyed on the top side. So I will most likely try using alclad for the first time on this one!

I have 5 of those Force 440 kits, Final cost for all of them, Around $300, I really don't understand why those kits are so exspensive, The 77-78 Annual 2-Doors are cheaper,Is it the flasher rack everyone is after? Edited December 22, 2010 by spkgibson
spkgibson Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) Here is a photo of mine. And no I won't trade or sell them, Most of these were gifts from my wife. She got on a buying spree, And got me alot of these off E-Bay. Edited December 22, 2010 by spkgibson

I thought the police parts in the Force 440 were the same as in the 4dr kits. I don't have the Force 440, but have the regular '77 & '78 Monaco 2dr annuals and several of the 4drs from the original DOH through TJ Hooker, Joker Goon Car to the current DOH version...
Railfreak78 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I just bought a DOH new release 4 door police car and it looks like the parts are the same minus the light bar. It's rounded not rectangular. I just wanted the Force 440 to have for my collection of B-bodies as it was a one time release. The annuals are normally more when I see them than the Force 440. I'm not in a hurry though. Just found out the DOH will donate a LOT of parts for my 2 door projects as I do have 2 horrible condition Force 440 junk cars but I'm going to save them. I just wanted a clean one. Nice collection Spk. Hey you said the Yodel cars come with both grills and headlights. Are they the same scale?

No they are 1/24th Scale ,Yes the older versions of the kit do ,The ones with the built up of the actual models,Not the more commen ones with the cool box art, Those are cheap believe it or not, I bought my Both my NYC Fury And the CHP Monaco for $50 combined, The grills are just a tad bigger then the 1/25 Dodge Kits,But you can get it to work,By carefully cutting out the center of the 1/25 Dodge and using a flat needle file to open up the area,Make the body fit the grill, Not the other way around, Thats a disaster waiting to happen. Look for the pre-painted ones like I have posted on here, They only made 3 versions of that one,I'm only missing the LCPD one.
Railfreak78 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I have noted to myself on Ebay that I have seen the NYPD, New Jersey, and I think one other. I noticed some are molded and some pre painted. One more question if you don't mind.... Are thos curbside engine wise? I almost bought the New Jersey car this last weekend but I was turned off not knowing if the hood was sealed. I guess I need to just buy one so I can compare to the Dukes/Goon/TJ Hooker/etc car. I love these cars so much I guess I'm just wanting a little of everything
niteowl7710 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 In the past couple of weeks I've gotten these on trade. Clockwise from BeeMopar, BigBlockLyle, & MrChevelle respectively. Thanks guys enjoy your new kits (especially Lyle's who took a 3 day scenic tour of Illinois before getting there)
JamesW Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Got these in the mail today. The 57 is gonna be my junker/barn find.

I love these cars so much I guess I'm just wanting a little of everything Those kits are completely curbside, No engine detail to right home about,But the kit does have the best hubcaps for the MPC/AMT Dodge kits, And also the taillights are clear and are 100% correct for the 77-78 fury,And the 75-76 Coronet. The light bars could be used on the 1/25th scale Dodge kits, Same with the decals,IF the are usable. Find you one of the older ones that I mentioned,Swipe the fury grill and the Taillights and make you a 1/25th Fury. And use the Monaco grill in the same kit And build it up,They look nice when they are done. Here is my 78 Fury so far. That is the New DOH kit with one of those grills in it.
Lownslow Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 got me a stool for the work room and this followed me out the door
