XJ6 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 On the subject of Fury's, Got a set of Parking lights from a fella in NY for my '69 Fury, also got some supplies to tackle a few more area's of it Gave them a good polish too Stuff I picked up a few days ago, still have to go get a few other autobody supplies so I can finish tackling my bodywork. Nick The parking light lense you polished look great....would like to know what you had used on them....I am guessing Novus Products? Good luck on both projects... Cheers Don...
1320wayne Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I'm actually two days late with my results. At a contest on Saturday I was able to pickup the new Revell of Germany (Moebius) International Lonestar semi kit for the wonderful sum of $40, a Revell Ford Aeromax kit, complete but open in a plastic tote, all for $10, an original, sealed MPC Truckin USA 78 style Dodge van kit for $20 and another vendor was selling kits at the rate of 3 for $20 so I was able to select a Lindberg Dodge Dakota, Revell 67 Plymouth GTX and a Revell 70 Superbird, all sealed. There was also a participant at the show walking around with a sealed MPC Dodge Warlock kit that he was trying to sell. All I've been looking for is a set of decals for this kit. After talking for a bit he decided to open the kit and sell me just the decal sheet. All in all, a very good model acquistion day.

Believe it or not I stopped into a local Resto shop and asked one of the guys what they use, would you believe plain old Meguirs Scratch X 2.0 It worked it better than I thought, I did a few of the dash lenses as well. I'm impressed with the way it worked to be honest. Nick Edit: This is as close to a before shot I have of the dash lenses Edited February 5, 2013 by Nick Winter
Casey Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Goodbye spray cans. You ain't gotta go home, but you can't stay here anymore.
jaydar Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I got a '68 Revell Firebird today. It is the Monogram boxing (2004?). Decals look good and the detail level is really good too. I have the Model Car Garage PE set.
Erik Smith Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Goodbye spray cans. You ain't gotta go home, but you can't stay here anymore. You can keep the spray cans - just decant and you have pre thinned paint ready to spray. You can control how much comes out, now, and no more spray bombs.
Custom Mike Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) I picked up a pair of real gems today from Mike at Hayes Hobby House, prepare to start drooling!   Both are VINTAGE AMT '32 Fords, in a box design I've never seen before. The Vicky has the grille glued into the shell, and the 427 is mostly built. There's some damage from the tires on a few parts, but nothing major on this one... Here's the '32 Roadster, it's got no parts glued together, but the grille shell and the hood have tire damage...I'm still happy I got 'em! Edited February 7, 2013 by Custom Mike

jrherald420 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Went to Hobby Lobby and used my 40% off on a can of Ultra Gloss Clear coat and my wife used one on the Prismacolor black marker. She also spotted the other 8 cans of spray paint when walking by the clearance section. Got 2 cans of Fabric Grey, 2 cans of Camo Grey, 1 light sea grey, 1 Black cherry pearl, 1 Burgundy red and 1 Citrus yellow metallic......each can was marked down to 2.22!!!! lol On top of that she wants me to build another car for her using the Black cherry pearl, she wanted a 69 GTO so I won a kit from 1994 on Ebay for 16.00 shipped.
