Scale-Master
This is one of the two cockpit side X-braces. They had to be notched at the intersection. And they are installed…
Scale-Master
I started fitting the rear body section to the frame so I could take some measurements to build the rear portion of the frame.
Pete J.
Very nice Mark. This is really shaping up to be a true masterpiece. The next Seven will have to run to beat it!

Scale-Master
Beginning of the rear section of the frame, this hoop fits into the rear body. It is much longer than a standard Super 7 to accommodate the added bodywork and trunk. I started on the rear suspension. More brass… This will be the DeDion tube. Scale-Master
This piece is mostly bronze with two brass parts. It is the lower mount.

Alyn
nicely engineered, Mark. Can you mention why you went with bronze for the lower mount? Also, is the DeDion design typical of Sevens, or something you wanted to try in scale?
Scale-Master
I was given some bronze scrap from the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland. The stock was the right size for the part (same reason I used to make the Weber carb master with it), no other reason. The DeDion is standard on Caterhams/Sevens. I was tinkering with putting a narrowed C4/5 Corvette rear suspension in, but didn't think it was something appropriate for this one.
