Harry P. Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 For instance...what if the Impala had gone to horizontal taillights a few years earlier? What if the mid-sixties GTO had horizontal headlights... What if the new 300 had a more "heritage" look? Just a few of the ideas rolling around in my head...
Ken Kitchen Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Yes, No, Yes. Love the taillight treatment it really works. No way on the GTO. You can't improve on perfection. I definitely like the updated treatment on the 300, but I think a little more modern treatment of the headlights would help it. Get rid of the trim rings and fair it into the body. Otherwise a great improvement on the design.
Harry P. Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 What would a Magnum have looked like...in 1968??? What if a Studebaker and a Mustang had a baby??? Oy, vey...
mikelo Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Nice to see some of your versions of styling snafus. I do like the Impala.
camaroman Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Harry I think it's time for your meds. Seriously, I like most of them, but the GTO looks as if the goat was pollenated by a super bee!!!
camaroman Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 After my last post I looked closely at the Impala; Compared to your avatar looks as if they should have simply kept the horizonals (?) a couple of more years!
Harry P. Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 What if the Beach Boys were English? What if the New Beetle was a little more like the old one? What if a Corvette had a "Luxury Decor package" option... And what would a tuner from the Communist bloc have looked like in 1968? ok...I'll take my medication now...
Peter Lombardo Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Harry, you have way too much free time on your hands. That "Studebang" is way over the top, but I do find the Chrysler 300/DeSoto an interesting idea. Headlights look a little odd, but I was thinking about something along these lines...how would a Chrysler 300 look if done as a '49 Mercury style leadsled? I think not too far from the front design of your car. Maybe....Maybe not.
Jairus Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Harry, All look good to me, but then I only have a B.S. in graphic design....... GTO works better than the Chevrolet, with the Charger least liked. 300 is flat out perfect!
Harry P. Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 ok...just so nobody thinks I'm nuts...several of those were just done for laughs. The Studebang, the Cadivette, the Tranbant tuner, etc. were just me goofing off. But I actually do like the 300, and the "horizontal lights" GTO is kind of nice.
Modelmartin Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Good yuks! Mustebanger? Corvarado? Middle age Beetle?
novadose71 Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Where am I??? better byet where are you????
lordairgtar Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 What if the mid-sixties GTO had horizontal headlights... Just a few of the ideas rolling around in my head... Kind of like a Beaumont, Harry.
plasticgas Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 (edited) I kinda like the goat! What about doing it with that same grill and hide-a-ways like the '68 GTO? Edited September 26, 2007 by plasticgas
bsoder Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Harry you have a great imagination!..I really like the look of the Impala, and your new "beetle" does look better
bartek Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Styling Snafus' back! Oh I am happy with that! And please, Harry, just think about what if Alfa Romeo was a very British roadster???
Harry P. Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 Styling Snafus' back! Oh I am happy with that! And please, Harry, just think about what if Alfa Romeo was a very British roadster??? Thanks, bartek! I'll have to give the "British Alfa" some thought!
41CHEVY Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 The Goat.... maybe, the Charger ..... looks like an El Camino with a cap, the 300....perfect, But the TRIBANT !!! I bought a Revell of Germany one years ago as a joke.......Now where is it????? Paul
camaroman Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Harry I hope no one at GM sees that CORVETTALAC. They are crazy enough to try it
mr moto Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 The Corvettillac sure works for me but those bean counters in Detroit wouldn't have the guts to do it! Adventurous styling died sometime in the 60's and was replaced by committee-driven, focus-group tested styling.
TOM MURPHY Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 For instance...what if the Impala had gone to horizontal taillights a few years earlier? What if the mid-sixties GTO had horizontal headlights... Harry P. Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE U THANKS FOR MAKIN ME SMILE. I USED TO PUT 2 DIFERENT CARS TOGETHER. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY NUT HERE. DO U EVER DRAW ANYTHING BY HAND?? TOM MURPHY UNFINISHED DREAMS I haven't drawn anything by hand in many years. I used to do it all by hand... airbrush (acrylics) on illustration board. And all the pain that goes with it... running out of a color at 10 PM with the illustration due in the morning and no art supply stores open anymore... or worse yet, paint bleeding under the frisket... or worse yet, the airbrush spitting onto the illustration, or actually spilling paint onto it. Sheesh... the stuff I used to put up with! Now I do all my illustrations electronically. Still "drawn" by me, but instead of an airbrush I use a mouse now. That's progress, I guess...
Chuck Most Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I haven't drawn anything by hand in many years. Neither have I, trouble is, I suck at graphic programs. So if I picked up the pencil and pad again, I'd be terrible, and if I clicked on the mouse in a Photoshop type program, I'd be far worse.
made007 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 i like that cadivvete, and...................im gonna build one myself, so ....... stay tuned
