mangodart Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Here is my last build, and the first one for this year, a 77 Monte Carlo from Revell, mostly Box Stock except for the wheels, which are from a 78 Camaro, and the seat belt from MCG. I've also take some pics with a 79 model to see the difference of size between those two generations !! Hope you'll like it :
chebbysteve Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 beautifully done. really like the interior.
Jeff B Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 The seats and door cards look so real! Great work all the way around!
Guest Johnny Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 A lot of people overlook the beauty of this year model. And what can be done with that kit! Great job. It does build into a nice curbside representation!
crazyjim Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Nice, clean, SHINY :) build. The interior is marvelous.
mangodart Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Thank you guys, unfortunatly the sky wasn't that nice when I took the pics so the paint doesn't look as shiny as it is in reality
tomsheehy Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Very nice. Man I loved those cars growing up. You did a great job on the details. Thanks
charlie8575 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Gorgeous job on this. Light blue is a nice color for these. Charlie Larkin
Chuck Most Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Always love it when somebody takes a snap together kit and makes it look better than a lot of the full-detail kits out there.
Erik Smith Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Thank you guys, unfortunatly the sky wasn't that nice when I took the pics so the paint doesn't look as shiny as it is in reality You should see the sky here - or rather, you can't. I thought it looked like you live in some sort of paradise.
slusher Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Nice 77 the interior looks great. sharp build..
bbowser Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Great model. Those Monte Carlos were very popular and yet you never see them anymore. Excellent job on the interior.
Duntov Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Nice work here!!! The interior is really well done... Thanks for sharing!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
Chris White Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 You did that with a snap kit. That is impressive.....you got skills
cortinanut Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Beautiful job! From the comparison shots, I think one model or the other is slightly out of scale. The Monte Carlo's overall length shrank from 213.3 inches to 200.4 inches in the 1978 downsizing--considerably more than these shots suggest. It also lost 812 pounds!
Heartattaq Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 oh that Monte brings back memories, that is the first car that I have a recollection of in my family, A big white boat with red vinyl top. that car was a beast
realgone58 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Monte looks great! You nailed the colors. It's missing white walls though (of course I'd put white walls on shopping carts).
mangodart Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Thanks for all these comments, that is greatly appriciated !!! I've think about white wall but finnaly found that it looks better without !!!
Nxr Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 You should do the AMT 1970 Monte Carlo with the MCG update set and an edelbrock engine upgrade kit, nice interior job though i love it.
Sixties Sam Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Beautiful build! Those Monte Carlos were some of the nicest cars of the 1970's! Sam
