cobraman Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Those look great. I like that there are drivers in them.
Mooneyzs Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 John... It's totally cool that you build these in 1/25th scale. When you are don't with the 1/16th scale one you will have to take pics of them with the 1/25th scale guys. I sure cant wait to see more progress on these guys.
Dyno Davo Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Hi John, awesome workmanship as usual mate, these will be ready in time for the movie I suggest!!!!!!!!!!!
Nitrozilla Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Hi John. Sorry I haven't commented on your builds in a while. You've been knockin' out some seriously beautiful work. I'm back in the game and I see you're still on your game. Keep on keepin' on. AMAZING
Pro Tech Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 John, nice work on the steering/throttle linkage arms/ends, such a small part but when you add the depth of detail that you do it really makes them come alive. Love those 1/25 builds also!!! Charlie Pro Tech
John Teresi Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Hello.......thanks guys for the kind comments........I really do appreciate them........I got both frames painted .......H.O.K. True Blue Pearl and Dupont Jarrett Red........I also made some extra roll bar padding......the chrome wheels were stripped and painted Alclad.......I made some valve stems.........and weathered the tires........I will work on the engines tomorrow......thanks for looking.
tyrone Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Top notch work John... those wheels and slicks look great....
Mooneyzs Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Great work John... Those chassis look great in paint. Nice work. The rims look killer too. Keep up the great work. I forgot to mention how good the tires look too. I know it's not easy to sand these rubber tires down that perfect. You knocked them out of the park. Edited April 4, 2013 by Mooneyzs
gasser59 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Chris is right, those tires are amazing and I know they're a bit of a challenge. I also like how you spot color marked them for the chassis they go with. Nicely done. Carry on... Will we be seeing these in a few weeks at DSC9?
W-409 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Great job with the frames, the paint is looking incredible. I'm taking notes on these, since I have that 1/25 Don Garlits' Rear Engine Dragster, which has quite similar engine and suspesion etc... The wheels and tires look very good too, they need to be 1:1 scale.
vintagedragfan Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 that is top notch work John, wheels are perfect

I think John should bring these works in progress to the DSC. I would love to see them in person at this stage.
John Teresi Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Hello.......thank you all very much for the kind comments........I started to assemble the engines.......all chrome was stripped and painted Alclad........the engine blocks painted H.O.K. True Blue Pearl and Dupont Jarrett Red.......I dressed them up with "Pro Tech" : fuel line, spark plug wires and nut and bolt ends.......all fittings I made with styrene hex rod that I drilled out ,cut and sanded........then I airbrushed them with Tamiya Clear red and Blue.......I will finish up the engines tomorrow.......thanks for looking.
Mooneyzs Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 John... These engine look totally killer. Nice job on them. These builds are sure coming along.
Nacho Z Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I've followed your builds for some time John, this is my first time posting a comment on them and I'm not sure which adjectives to use! Great work as always. You set the bar high. Gives me something to shoot for.
vintagedragfan Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 they both look stunning John! I bet it can get a little confusing working on 2 at the same time, awesome brother!
planearranger Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The realism you get with metal finishes, tires, hardware and lines...STUNNING. I love that you chose to build these cars, John- it just blows me away that your taste in subjects totally mirrors my own! But holy BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, my 1/25 avatar cars are NOT WORTHY!!!
GoatGuy Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I agree with Brad - killer stuff. What paint did you use on the red blocked engine's blower front to make it look like light gold/dirty chrome?

What paint did you use on the red blocked engine's blower front to make it look like light gold/dirty chrome? Hi Dave.......I airbrushed Tamiya Gold Titanium over the chrome Alclad........then I gave a light wash with "Folk Art" Acrylic Dark Gray........thanks.
