Terry Sumner Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Friends, the shop here is the shop of a fellow club member, Kevin. Bear in mind when viewing the photos that his shop encompasses his ENTIRE basement of his home. He builds all kinds of models....cars, trains, planes, figures, armor....and it's ALL very good! There are 29 photos in my Fotki album here... http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki
Foxer Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Looks like he's been living in the man cave a long tine! Just curious, what's the pipe that runs along the front edge of his bench for?
Austin T Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Looks like I place I could live out a nuclear war in....
martinfan5 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) MMMM, its ok, I have seen better to be honest Once you have been in the submarine, everything else does not compete Edited March 26, 2013 by martinfan5
signguy2108 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Did you leave out the word "hobby" in front of shop? Idon't believe my lhs has than big of a selection of stuff!
Rob McKee Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Actually, this takes a little pressure off me trying to convince my wife that I don't have too much at all. Very impressive.
Chief Joseph Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Looks kind of like a hobby shop blew up... It's nice and all in the classical, excessive American way, but I sure wouldn't want my kids to have to deal with something like that after I've kicked the bucket.
my80malibu Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nice Room a little on the cluttered side. The resistance welder is Awesome I would like to get one some day.
greymack Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Thats a sure nice man cave / model building room. There is some great eye candy there for sure.
charlie8575 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Now that's impressive. I might organize things a bit differently, but the assortment is incredible. Missed you at MassCar, Terry. Hopefully next year! Charlie Larkin

Terry Sumner Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Now that's impressive. I might organize things a bit differently, but the assortment is incredible. Missed you at MassCar, Terry. Hopefully next year! Charlie Larkin Sorry Charlie....it was my birthday on the 18th and my daughter threw a small surprise party at her house for me on the 17th. So I kinda had to be there.....
Brett Barrow Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Only a modeler would hide an unsightly water softener behind a Kreigsmarine war ensign...
Burnout Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Impressive, but not necessarily in a positive way. Maybe Kevin likes shopping more than building?
LoneWolf15 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Sorry Charlie....it was my birthday on the 18th and my daughter threw a small surprise party at her house for me on the 17th. So I kinda had to be there..... Why ? At your age , I'd kinda want to forget about it and stop counting them ... Like 20 years ago ..... Ya old goat ! Lmao !
Dr. Cranky Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 That looks like a well stocked and organized space.
mikemodeler Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I would hate to think how much money is sitting there, in tools and kits and parts. I have wanted to inventory my collections for some time now but mine will be a piece of cake compared to this!
Terry Sumner Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Impressive, but not necessarily in a positive way. Maybe Kevin likes shopping more than building? No...Kevin builds... a LOT! And builds well too. He's won a few Best of Show awards in addition to many class awards! He's very eclectic in what he builds. Builds everything! He's building a 1/35 scale German Locomotive right now that is pretty awesome! And he made that train trestle that you see in the 5th row down, first pic on the left numbered 1002644, from scratch. He's just fortunate enough that he can spend a lot of time with his hobby!
charlie8575 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Sorry Charlie....it was my birthday on the 18th and my daughter threw a small surprise party at her house for me on the 17th. So I kinda had to be there..... And next year, the show will be on the 18th. There's your birthday present to yourself. Hopefully, we'll see each other soon. I won't be at NNL this year- wedding to go to. Now with all the weddings out of the way, I can resume my normal show schedule, as Classic Plastic go nuptualed-out, too last September. Charlie Larkin
GeeBee Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 That's one very nice 'Man Cave' tidy and very well organised .....
Gramps2u Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Years of collecting no doubt. I would be confused on what to build next with that collection ! What are the store hours for shopping?
