Custom Hearse Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I was looking on Revell/Monograms web site, and there is a link for a surprise announcement that they are going to re-release ALL their 1/8th scale kits at the beginning of next month!!! Including the Jaguar XKE kit!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
MAGNUM4342 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 And you didn't give us the link because you want them all for yourself?
niteowl7710 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Really? It's not even Monday on the East Coast yet...
jbwelda Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 you know, i heard that revell was gonna release all the motorcycle parts packs, and since their market research told them they wouldn't sell, they are going to GIVE THEM AWAY!
BKcustoms Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) I must be blind as a bat.. I tried every link on there site and seen nothing of that type of news!! Same here, I can't find anything on their site about it Edited April 1, 2013 by BKcustoms
kalbert Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Much as I'd love to get a new 1/8 Iroc-Z it ain't every gonna happen...
martinfan5 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) THIS IS A APRIL FOOLS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited April 1, 2013 by martinfan5
highway Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Ok, I'm just replying to see if this ends up as a bad April Fools joke or not. I could use a hood for the 79 Trans Am and would like to see it come back.
blunc Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 well, at least the value of my spare jag kit won't be going down very soon.
Custom Hearse Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 It was intended to start on April 1st. It read: they are going to re-release ALL their 1/8th scale kits at the beginning of "NEXT" month... as in APRIL 1st. I posted it 1 hour before THE BEGINNING OF NEXT MONTH... If it made you mad, I apologize. it was JUST A JOKE.
niteowl7710 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I just thought it could have been a better gag. Perhaps Round 2 finds a bunch of the missing molds, and purchases JoHan. Between the lack of updating their website and the mystery and intrigue of the JoHan saga (combined with the recent purchase of Lindberg) that could have went on for days.
LDO Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I heard that the best ribeyes come from sacred cows. Mmmmmm. Ribeyes.
highway Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Even though I figured this was a (cruel) April Fools joke, I did find one thing when I was looking at Revell's website interesting that made me go HUMMMMM. They had a pic of AMT's old 77/78 Trans AM kit (I could tell by the junky Snowflake wheels and the thick T top bar) with the "Smokey and the Bandit" (also AMT's) logo and stating it was 1/25 scale. Now anyone with any sense knows, even though I have seen the recent reissue includes Georgia "BAN ONE" and state flag plates, the Revell Trans Am is 1/24 scale and has the incorrect for the movie car thin T top. Is this going to be a new kit or what??
jbwelda Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 >Is this going to be a new kit or what?? hmmm, how many times have we seen box art or "prototype" photos, or even advertising copy, that didnt resemble what was in the kit in the least bit?
MAGNUM4342 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 For it to be an April fool's joke, it has to take place on APRIL 1ST! What a waste of time!

Custom Hearse Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) I just want to say that THIS WAS A JOKE. I am not going to apologize again for trying to have some fun. If you were hurt by this then that is your problem. As for the "CRUEL" comments, you should re-evaluate your wording. If I had made a joke about a child with cancer, cerebral palsy, or any other childhood malady, then THAT would be cruel and horrible. You are whining over a hunk of plastic and cardboard. You need to stop being so hateful and self centered... Edited April 2, 2013 by Custom Hearse
Thom Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Sad! But on the other hand my 2 boxed kits and one glue bomb swap meet find are all I will need.

You need to stop being so hateful and self centered... Jeez lighten up Francis! Why are you dragging disabled kids into your bomb of a "joke"? I dunno which side of the bed you crawled out of this morning, but you might try re-entering and coming out the other side and see if your disposition isn't more improved before lashing out at everyone because we weren't LOLing over that "gag" of yours...cause there's only one whiny person in this thread.
Deano Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Wow! Post your April Fool's joke before going to bed and the world comes to an end! Were we all starving for drama? Maybe someone should start a new "Awesome Model" thread. Edited April 2, 2013 by Deano
