I can't believe I haven't been in the hooby room since May to do any work, decided to get the Porsche out and see what my next move would be, didn't spend a lot of time in there, but managed to get the front windscreen frame covered in BMF, as the frame was originally broken I wasn't looking forward to doing the BMF incase any pressure burnishing down the BMF would have broke the frame again, luckily it came through o.k .....

Looking at ALL the progress photos, I can't help but notice how organized your hobby room is! Your attention to detail and beautiful clean building methods is reflected in how you maintain your work space.

Then I look around my work space and...........!

I follow all your builds with keen interest... and I think I'm learning something about your personality at the same time. And it's to be admired.

Thanks Tony, just can't stand a cluttered work room, I like all my tools in a place where I know I can find them ......

Did a little more before before closing the door for the night, not a lot of BMF to do on it, side strips under the door and some chrome trim on the bumpers, but they still need to be done,

This is cracking work Geoff. It's going to be one smart model when finished. It is true that this particular Fujimi kit is probably the pinnacle of 1/24 kits in terms of detail. I am in the process of building this kit too so I will enjoy watching your build. Keep up the good work.

Hi,

Nice work with the flocking :-) what glue did you use and where from having a nightmare flocking using normal white glue ? Please explain as very frustrated car modeller at the moment :-)

Thanks

I used to use Solvite repair adhesive for flocking, but they have changed the formula, and it now more wallpaper paste in texture than a PVA glue, so for this one I found a bottle of Evostick PVA woodwork glue thinned out slightly with distilled water,

I find working on small sections at a time instead of trying to do the whole floorpan makes for a better finish, brush the glue on, sprinkle on the flocking using a mesh sieve, press down into the corners etc using your finger, and leave to dry, I usually let is sit on the side for around an hour before I touch it again to work on another section, the flocking I'm using for this build is a lot finer than I have previously used on other builds and I'm finding that two coats of the flocking fibres are needed.

I'm actually in the middle of writing a book and the subject is how to do all the finer detail work on model cars, such as the Bare metal foil, flocking, painting, wet sanding & polishing, etc, when if will get finished or published I don't know at the moment, as I have never done anything like this before.

Well apart from the 911 Convetible I built earlier, these Fujimi kits certainly have more parts than any other models I have built in the past .....

Geoff, glad to see you're back at it, always enjoy your work. This one's going to be another great addition to your collection.

I need to airbrush a few small parts before I can any further with the build, but today I did a little more BMF on it ....

Well as the weather is on the turn over here, it's time to crank on the heating and spending more time in the hobby room, got the seats put together, side panels all fitted out and fitted into place, plus the dashboard, some parts are a little tricky to get to fit, but nothing too hard, a bit of touching up to hide a few marks on the side panels, but once dry won't be noticed.

Absolutely stunning work ! The interior color is very realistic , what color is it or is it a mix ? Notice in previous threads the paints you used ???????

That interior is mind blowing! Are the gauge bezels BMF or paint ?

The seats and side panels are a mix of Humbrol enamels, mixed to replicate the photo's of the full size 356 I'm working on.

i am sure your 1/1 356 will be just as good as your 1/24. Great details. Got a B cab to restore and A coupe and Speedster to build slowly for my diorama in 1/24.

Sorry, that was a slight 'Typo' it should have read "Working from" & not working on, I only wish I had a 1:1 356 sitting in my garage .....

It's been so long since I've touched this model, I totally forgot about it, the wheels are now on and it's ready for the body and chassis to become one
