Dyno Davo Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Back story: Rodriguez had been telling the workshop boys stories of the old days when he and his dad used to go to Bonneville to race his old man's 34. This had gone on for some time so one day the lads decided they wanted some of this action so off they went to Rodriguez's old man's place to get the race car and hauler. Well they had both been sitting for a long while and the cancer had set in a bit, but what the hell, onto the trailer, hooked up to the old race team camper and off they went. Some call it rust, some patina, the lads just called it a hoot and Bonneville here we come. Sending out a huge thanks to Dr Cranky for his amazing website, detailed tutorials ans inspirational models. Ford Coupe is the Revell Snap tite kit with lots of add ons The trailer is the one from the Fireball 500 kit obviously highly modified The Chev camper is a highly modified diecast with again lots of add ons
vintagedragfan Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 beautiful weathering Dave! very nice build, love it!
Taxdude Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I really like it when weathering is subtle to the point that you see it but at the same time you don't. If that makes sense. And you have nailed that, well done.
Burnout Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 That's very cool. The models, the photography - all very well done. Thanks for sharing.
crazyrichard Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 very very cool !!!!!! love the background also , gives it that extra dimension
Sixties Sam Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Great job on the models and photos! It all looks and feels real! Nice weathering on all the vehicles. Great story, too! Sam
ChevyCoupe41 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This is one of the coolest builds what i've seen! Everything looks perfect in this build. Very Nice Job!
W-409 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 That is perfect Salt Racer Ford! And I agree completely with Fred on the weathering. Even If I usually don't like weathering that much, but on this one it just looks perfect. Nicely done all the way, The Pickup, Trailer and of course the Salt Race Ford.
Alyn Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 looks like you are ready to snatch the peddle from Cranky's hand, Grasshopper ! Excellent work on the weathering. It's obvious that you didn't just randomly salt the body, but focused on where the rust and weathering would actually be on the body. Nice salt job on the tires too. I love the simplicity of the 34 coupe.
bbowser Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Amazing job on the models and the photos. Great work.
Mauricio Meyer Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Very very nice, love the weathering. Nice pictures too. Congratulations!!!
