blunc Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 just tell anyone that asks, that it's one of those new-fangled "drive-by-WiFi" set ups but you have to plug in yer iPhone to make it work.
blunc Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 but seriously, how about having the fenders stay attached to the chassis and have the hood/cabin part pivot upward with the hinge inside the front of the hood. this would require gluing the hood to the cab and bracing it for the extra load but it may reduce your cabling/steering problems.
FIREMODELMAN Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I love the 'flip top' option. Great idea. You gotta do it know, since you showed us that engine and how good it looks.
blazefox Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Or the cabin could stay in place and the front fenders can be one peice and the hood another
bpletcher55 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 so meany ideas and only one body to try them with.the fenders /hood idea would not give that much more room ,but i like the input thanks ,i,m going to try the tilting cab idea will spend time to marrow working on it ,i,ll try and get pics as i go ,thanks every one for the feed back ,
tooltas Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I seen a lot of coe's with the motor behine the cabs I would have use just a stock block and heads them flat/hemi head would be cooler in a hotrod car
bpletcher55 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 todd ,i have a lot more of those heads ,this is going to be a hot rod truck that can haul hot rod cars,
Gramps2u Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Chrome wont get you home, But it looks good pushing it down the road!
bpletcher55 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 got some paint on her ,opened up all the vents on the hood ,interior will be a dark red, opened the head lights and painted the grill,
bpletcher55 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 SHE IS GOING TO BE WEATHERED A LITTLE ALSO ,
bpletcher55 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 IF YOU LOOK AT THE GRILL I TRYED TO HAVE THE CHROME PITTED AS I AM GOING TO LIGHTLY WEATHER THE TRUCK, I,M HAPPY SO FAR ,
bpletcher55 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 started the weathering ,let me know what you think,
Tom Geiger Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 That is looking wicked Blair! I wouldn't spend any time making the cab tilt, I think it's just perfect with the hood open. The engine is very visible and cool in it's own right!
Mooneyzs Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 This is looking great and I love the weathering on it.
tooltas Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 that's weatering is cool but u need to weatering the bed will good omost used hard and put away very wet
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) This is an awesome build! I have always loved COEs shiny, but the rusting is perfect and fits this well! On the flatbed , I would weather it, but then take some graphite and rub it on the areas where tires from cars being loaded and unloaded would rub and make the metal used but shiny from wear ...
