Nxr Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) So i have ordered something on ebay ( a rare kit that is..) and it was ordered on may 13. The first time the seller gets the address wrong and it was eventually sent back to him, so i was like fine one mistake is cool, mind you this item is from Pennsylvania and i live in new york so since most packages even from California take on average 2-3 days to arrive i got a little concerned, now the 2nd time he finally provides the tracking number and it says package was delivered: 9114901075742375721287 you can check out the tracking here, but nothing was ever delivered to my door and the seller is not responding at all, does this mean someone in building stole the package or what exactly is going on? Would love some suggestions from anyone that had this occur to them. Very Frustrating at this point paid over 50$ for this kit. Edited May 28, 2013 by Nxr
1930fordpickup Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Expected Delivery By: May 28, 2013 USPS Tracking / Delivery Confirmation™ This is what it says in the right hand column . The column on the left say delivered 12:38 yesterday. Did they work yesterday?
niteowl7710 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah delivery on a National Holiday, I don't think so...
Nxr Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Exactly this is whats confusing me, Its already 6 pm here so doubt anything is going to come, if they are off on memorial day then why would someone say delivered? So weird right... Plus often you see out for delivery before that message as well, might have to call them tomorrow i guess.

Ace-Garageguy Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 If it fails to arrive in a couple of days, you need to file a claim with ebay. You ARE protected on anything to a pretty good degree. The procedure is straightforward and self-explanatory...just read and follow the directions. First thing, like ebay suggests, is to contact the seller in writing and calmly and clearly state EXACTLY what happened, mentioning he got (or claimed to get) the address wrong the first time. Once you file your claim through the proper channels and do what the directions say, if the seller still fails to respond, ebay usually sides with the buyer, refunds your money, and goes after the seller to make it up to them. Make sure to KEEP COPIES of all of your e-mail conversations, and get the names of anyone you talk to at the USPS, or anywhere else. In close to 1500 ebay transactions I've had about 7 problems, and have NEVER been burned... because I followed the plan above.
slusher Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 With all of the mix ups its ok to be a little worried. l have been there. Ebay stands behind everything now that helps..
Nxr Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Worst part is its a jo-han chrysler 300 kit that i wanted for so long... going to call the usps tomorrow hopefully they got some information on what happened, seller responded is as confused as well.
Guest Johnny Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) If they are as helpful there as here all they will do is look it up on the computer and say "it was delivered, nothing more we can do." then suggest you contact the seller or ebay /paypal if that is how it was handled. I had one that was done like yours. showed delivered but never came. I know as I was home sitting on the porch when the mail came that day. Some postmen will scan them as delivered before they even leave the post office which I think happened with mine. I figure it never made it out off the PO but got mixed with outgoing mail as it showed up a week and a half later after taking a detour through New Mexico! There is always the risk of someone else snagging the package, especially if you live in an apartment building or complex where it would be left at the boxes or in front of the door in a hallway. signguy2108 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I have problems with FedEx. They operate 2 trucks in my town and the drivers are bad about handing off packages to each other. Once it trades trucks it is marked delivered. What the online tracking # says is delivered at 9:35 a.m. may not actually show up at my door till 2:00 in the afternoon! There is no local phone # to call and check on it, 800 # has to go though channels. My ups & usps drivers I have cell #'s for.
Nxr Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Great news! the package was delivered to an entirely wrong address and the people came to my building today to give it back, i am happy honestly thought it was gone! Thank you fellow MCM members for letting me share my frustrations.
Tom Geiger Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Once upon a time, before the Internet, I had someone mail me an old Valiant kit in response to an ad I had placed in the other magazine. It was sent UPS and never arrived. UPS had this habit of trying to get a neighbor to sign for it, so upon tracking it, they said it had been delivered to a house down the street from me. I went there and asked, nobody had seen a package. About 5 years later the people at that address were moving. A small child delivered the package to me. Turns out it was indeed delivered there and wound up being put in their hall closet.
