f1fan
Hello, Here is my 458 I built last year. It's a Revell kit , Hobby Design photo-etch, metal stickers and air valves. Paint is RM Diamont, black base, moss green pearl in the first coat of clear followed by just clear. I wish this was my real car, that would be sweet!! Thanks for looking!! alarmstrong
i look at a lot of builds on this site and don't comment on many of them. mostly because most people cant handle dead honesty with a discriminating eye, I was trained extensively to see all of the imperfections in paint and cant not see them. This build is beautiful just absolutely stunningly clean paint fantastic attention to details. Just WOW!! I have this kit and if it comes out half as good id be pleased. Chillyb1
What did you do for the seatbelts?
f1fan
Hey Guys, Thank you for the nice words! I'm really happy with the way this turned out and also really glad you guys like it. The seat belts are from Tuner Model Manufactory or T2M. One word of caution when using these belts, the adhesive on the back of the belt material doesnt stick very well. I used the double face tape that comes with Model Factory Hiro's belt set to put them together. The Ferrari emblems are decals from the T2M belt set. The belt hardware came in the Hobby Design Photo etch set. Jere

I've found belt material with an adhesive back to be difficult to work with (I'm thinking of Studio 27's belts). Was it a challenge to get the photoetch buckles where you wanted them on the belts? f1fan
that is very nice build., Did you have any problems with the kit or the HD photoetch. I have both in my stash.Joe, The only thing I can remember having a problem with on the kit, was the back glass needs to be shorten alittle to fit in its spot. I think I even sanded the mounting area towards the back. Just test fit it and you will see what I'm talking about. The HD photo-etch is really nice, but be careful it is easy to bend. It's very thin and soft. Was it a challenge to get the photoetch buckles where you wanted them on the belts?Curtis, kinda, I pulled on them with a tweezers to the right length then folded it around the buckle, then stuck a chunk of double sided tape between the belt material. Then just pinched it together. Thanks again for liking my car!! It's really nice to hear. Jere Edited June 6, 2013 by f1fan
