I finished this up today. Minus a side mirror cause I broke it. But i'll find a replacement. I wanted a 70's street strip car. And one that was kind of a different color. Here is the build thread http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74725&st=0&p=938169

For a quick summary,

Revell 69 Nova SS

350 with Accel Ignition, tunnel ram

Paint: Rustoleum Dark Bronze

Int: Krylon Saddle Tan with tan flocking

Thanks guys. And yes I put a wire under it to get the front wheels in the air. And no, not gonna have a hood.

Very nice! Love the color. What kit are the traction bars from? I ask because I am planning to build one very similar for a friend that used to have one back in the early 80's. His was a '69 SS as well and had yellow traction bars just like your build.

Thanks for all the compliments! But is there anything that nobody likes or would change?

Yeah, a spot in one of my cases for it! :P Perhaps a little blackwash to the wheels, just to give a little depth, but I really think it's perfect!

It looks perfect from my view, great job on it!

Nice Nova! I think this has always been one of the best looking Novas and your color fits perfectly! Good job with the detailing all over too and I like that wheel and tire combo. Just add Radiator hose clamp(s) and you're ready to fire it up ;) !

I seen guys put hose clamps on these. What are they using? Or are they just painting them on?

I've used a thin strip of BMF to make those clamps. Someone offers those in Photo Etch too, but can't remember who...Detail Master, maybe?

Again, nice Nova!

That color looks right at home on a Nova. I seem to remember seeing a bronze-brown very similar to that in the paint chips.

Nice color, and nicely-executed model.

Thank you once again. I will try some BMF for the clamps, and as for the color, I was browsing around the other day and seen a color close to this for 69.
