Kit Basher Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) The "joystick" shifter and the B-17 steering wheel are scratched. The seats, center of the dash and the e-brake came from a Mini. Edited July 20, 2013 by Kit Basher
Kit Basher Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) I'm real proud of my license plate. It could read "An F4U" (Corsair) or "Enough for you" (For you non-Virginia folks, that is the National Air and Space Museum tag with the SR-71 Blackbird on it. Edited July 20, 2013 by Kit Basher
TFchronos Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 That is very interesting and creative, great job on it, I like it.
JasonC Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Neat! But I wonder why you guys paint the frame rails black on these unibody cars?
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Neat! But I wonder why you guys paint the frame rails black on these unibody cars? Because they want to. It's thier build.
JasonC Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Because they want to. It's thier build. Thank you for that expansive reply! I'm just asking cause I've seen builds that replicate a 1:1 car and then when you view the chassis, the frame rails are black. And then when they went to all the trouble to getting the car correct as can be, one sees that mess up. Granted this is a custom setup. But still the frame rails are part of the body.
Dominik Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Cool idea on the interieur! Also good detailwork on the engine - well done!
Nimrod Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Very nice work, where can one find these wheels? Thanks
Kit Basher Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) Very nice work, where can one find these wheels? Thanks The wheels came from an old NASCAR kit, AMT "Maxwell House Thunderbird". They were the closest I could find to Corsair wheels. Thanks, Philip, for posting a photo of the aircraft (nice build BTW). I thought it would be fun to paint a car in this color scheme, and the Charger worked just right for me. I didn't even have to mask anything, the body lines automatically separated the colors. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Edited July 20, 2013 by Kit Basher
Sixties Sam Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Very creative idea, and very well done! Maybe put a machine gun on the hood?! Nah, you'd get pulled over quick! Sam
Kit Basher Posted July 21, 2013 Author Posted July 21, 2013 Maybe put a machine gun on the hood?! Nah, you'd get pulled over quick! Sam That's why I had to put mirrors on it, to "check six" for bandits.
Chris White Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Like the photo's. Nice theme build. Beautiful colour choice
