PatW Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I was looking through some show pics and came across TJ lavin's Ford, but I'd only got a Mercury on the shelf.... TJ's first And then my offering...
Jantrix Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Pat you sure get an A+ on styling. What sort of paint did you use? It looks like you had some issues with how it laid down.
PatW Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) Well thank you Rob. I must go to the top of the class and in 60 years thats the first time! Basically I took my lead from TJ's car. The paint is dark green matt from a Humbrol spray can. The problem was that I tried custom colours and a chrome spray from Plasti-Kote that I've used a hundred times before. I couldn't keep the dust away and lost my rag (temper) and brushed it with brush cleaner which burnt the plastic! So seeing TJ's car gave me a way out of a perfect custom/chrome/metalflake paint job which I messed up in the first place! So the paint went on super well over a scorched plastic shell. I shall make my own chassis next time so that I can get it on the ground! Edited August 9, 2013 by PatW
PatW Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 Thanks again, yes I'm looking through some more show pics although revell etc rod kits are hard to find in the UK.
PatW Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Thanks guys. I'm thinking of a Nascar using this kit!
