Yes a battery, it is in the model and the Johan Mustang FC uses the same chassis, so that has a battery as well.

Wow... did not know that. I figured they would not want the extra weight of a starter and battery. I have never seen any funny car with an onboard battery before. I guess you learn something new every day...
