MsDano85gt Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 not much going on here! just use of some guitar string for fuel lines running from tank to block pump then to carb. used g. string for a carb stud post as well, used a Plymouth parts box firewall for extra detail and heater hose hookups and a wiper motor guitar strings for master cylander lines changed this aod jeep into a standard shift borrowed a jeep cj 5 speed drilled a hole in the floor for shifter to mate to manual tranny chrome rims are borrowed from cj kit as well clean box stock build with little extras may try to wire the motor sometime in the future
slusher Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Very nice Jeep Honcho. They need to bring those back...
MsDano85gt Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 yes they need do need to reissue there are a few versions last most recent I think being "pink poison" those go for ridiculous amounts of cash on the bay as well
Ford guy Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Very cool Dan! I always thought these trucks were cool. If they were to re-issue these, I'd buy 3 or 4. Nice build.
MsDano85gt Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 thanks one of my cleanest shiniest works!
Jordan White Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I wish they would reissue this kit. I was lucky enough to get my hands on my brother's built kit to rebuild, so I didn't have pay out the nose for it.
Brizio Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Nice! And a real Honcho! A lot of people call honchos all the SJ jeep pickup, when the Honcho is only a decals package.
Randytheroadrunner Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Weren't they really classed as J-10s and J-20s?
Jordan White Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Weren't they really classed as J-10s and J-20s? Yes they were, the SJ was the fullsize Cherokee/Wagoneer.
MsDano85gt Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 Weren't they really classed as J-10s and J-20s? yes j-10's and j-20's my Dad had a j-10 which was a v6 motor with standard shift tranny 4x4 thinking of carefully removing the motor so i can go ahead and wire this guy for that little extra realism and detail
MsDano85gt Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 saw another memeber getting ready to make a rock crawler wish I had another kit to do something like that with, This one was a simple box stock build, except for the swapping of the auto tranny for a 5 speed from a cj-7 along with grafting in a plymouth duster firewall to the flat no detail plastic firewall for more detail such as heater hose and wiper motor, as well as borrowing the cj's chrome wheels thought they looked a touch nicer then the kit provided wagon looking spokers
unclescott58 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Very nice. I wonder when Revell will get around to reissuing this one? Scott
MikeBoyle Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) Love your build. I'm another vote for reissue. Edited August 20, 2014 by MikeBoyle
MsDano85gt Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Thanks mike i'll be watching yours for sure I am also trying to build a "scrambler" but i don't think i quite extended the bed far enough so it may just turn into an extended bed cj-7 rock crawler or something i'll need to watch your build carefully on how to go crawler style
Chuck Most Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Love it. Not Revell's finest effort, but in the right hands it makes for a pretty convincing little replica. Very nice. I wonder when Revell will get around to reissuing this one? Scott Whenever it is, it won't be soon enough if you ask me! Quite a few versions of this I want to build, and that number doubles when you count the resin Wagoneer conversions I want to build as well....
MsDano85gt Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 ooooOOOoooo wagoneer my Dad has owned a couple of those too great trucks!!
