peekay Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) Another one of my all-time favourite designs and one of my favourite kits, too. Finished this one this summer, paint is Zero base coats with Tamiya clear, wheels are from the kit but wear Modelhaus tyres and hubcaps.(BTW My camera wasn't able to distinguish between the Chevy engine orangey/red and the body red but the difference IS THERE!)Hosted on Fotki On the other side of this model I had an unfixable paint mistake on the driver's door so I put this decal over it. Since it would now be a "two-sided" car, I decided to go with black-walls too while I was at it. Edited August 10, 2017 by peekay
Pete L. Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Peter, Super nice build...great attention to detail and looks like lots of research ! Great save with the two sided motif.
W-409 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Very nice X-Frame Chevy! I really like these bodies a lot and you did excellent job with this build. I like the look with body colored steelies and hubcaps, also the white walls fit very nicely to this. The other side with that text and black wall tires looks very good, too. Very nice engine detail, but as a fan of those "W" Engines, I'd like to see a better picture of it...It looks so good from here!
peekay Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) Thanks everyone, your comments are very much appreciated. Niko, I don't have more shots of the engine right now but how about a 409 in the mean time.... Edited May 24, 2015 by peekay
PappyD340 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Extremely NICE build Peter, smart idea on the two sided motif for sure, I like it!
Renegade Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Great looking Elky. Love the stock build.
Sixties Sam Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Beautiful! I always liked the 59 El Camino better than any that came after it! That was a creative idea for covering the paint problem! Sam
Pete L. Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Can we have more shots of this engine bay, really nice work !!! Thanks everyone, your comments are very much appreciated. Niko, I don't have more shots of the engine right now but how about a 409 in the mean time....
charlie8575 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Creative repair to a goober, and well-done to boot. Charlie Larkin
W-409 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Niko, I don't have more shots of the engine right now but how about a 409 in the mean time.... Yes! That engine looks so fine, too! As all of your builds do. Very nice work with all of them.
george 53 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 GREAT way to save the build! It came out GREAT!
