So... we're down several days more of "labor cost" but very little physically accomplished. My wife got frustrated and posted if anyone could suggest anyone able to do sheetrock, painting and floors. She received over twenty people responding who are looking for work, licensed and bonded with personal references.

I told her to see what this guy accomplishes in the next two days, if it's not an improvement (we've spoken to him multiple times over the last three weeks), I told her to choose 3 or 4 to come place bids before this "handyman" bleeds us dry.

This is why I... well, I'm much calmer than I used to be.

You have more patience than I would have in this situation. I would have canned the clown when he wasn't accomplishing anything in that first month. If he's working on  time & materials, some guys will milk the heck out of a project. Plus why is he messing with the wiring that the electrician is being paid to deal with? I can understand your frustrations, but end his nonsense before you go broke.

A twisted ankle. Did it up right yesterday afternoon. My left ankle has done this to me all my life. This coming week will be less than pleasant. Best part about this is….I went and joined the gym yesterday morning after weeks of debating if I should or not. Figures.

I guess there are people out there willing to pay silly money on eBay for kits that are often indifferent quality wise.

I would love to get hold of a Pocher Bugatti T50 even a started one, but not at the crazy prices being asked. Well over 1000  UK pounds generally for what is  basically a big old plastic kit of 1970's quality.

Asking ain't getting.  Those listings have probably rolled over numerous times, possibly over multiple years.

One of my Father's Favorite sayings.

Especially when we went to farm equipment auctions with reserve prices.

Age!

My left Hip, right Knee and both shoulders, are all hurting. And I've done nothing to inflame them.

Time for more exercise and stretching.

Yup. Stretching and exercise do much good to keep everything functioning, but I have to rely occasionally on aspirin, ibuprofen, and topicals like Bengay to get me to the point where I CAN exercise.

That six weeks of immobility with the rib deal has been harder to get back from than I'd anticipated.

My old eye doctor billed my insurance even though I paid out of pocket, using up my benefits for the year. I now get to argue with them about that mess. Seriously, is it really that difficult to do your job correctly.

Apparently it is if my daily experience is anything to go by.

But frankly, I'm beginning to believe the majority of the public are so dozy, they don't even notice when they're being screwed by idiocy and laziness.

I'm seriously 100% on the same page as you.

I had physio for a shoulder impingement a few years back. The stretches and exercises only provided modest improvement. The major gains came from ultrasound treatments.

Sounds like your doctor's office manager maybe doing some double billing. Could be a form of fraud weather intentional or just not paying attention. Should alert both your insurance company, they may want to monitor the doctor's account to see if this is a common issue, and the doctor himself should be made aware of what has happened. Had the same issue years ago with a Dentist that we had been going to for a long time and he had gotten a new office manager. Turned out she also had some creative accounting problems as well.

You bring up a good point. The receptionist has messed up multiple appointments for both my wife and I, main reason why we changed who we go to. We plan on contacting our insurance Monday, and I'll be sure to mention this. I had paid almost 400 out of pocket to replace just lenses, and they put the same through insurance as an entire new pair of glasses.

Why only get paid once when you can double dip...and IF anyone notices, you just say "oops!".

Buried under this mess is a 1939 Plymouth P8 Sedan I restored for my father 25 ears ago. Yesterday morning at 7:30 a tree branch decided to part ways with the parent tree and took out the back of the garage. Don't yet know the extent of the damage as the tree crew isn't coming until Tuesday. Bu the roof has a crease across it and the hood is sitting several inches too high at the bast of the windshield.

Ran over my water bottle on my bike and put a pin sized whole in it. Maybe I can melt it back together? 20250629_212351.jpg.59162a7ace4025cb1955085f964e5087.jpg

Man, that is rough. I remember my friend at school was telling me of some company guys who were felling trees by residential areas and decided to drop one on some guy's mint 1972 Camaro. Not fun.
