as lifelong dog owners, this kind of stuff REALLY TICKS me off!!! it bothers me much more to see an animal in distress than a human (does that make me bad?)

WHY??? what could a dog have even done to warrant this kind of treatment

sadly last yr we had the exact same thing happen, some low-life beat the snot out of "Captain", a beautiful shepard, then threw him in a dumpster, & the poor puppy died. low life's punishment? hundred buck fine, up here dogs are considered "chattel" by the law- something WRONG there....hopefully karma will pay him a visit....

i've always said dogs offer unconditional love- lock your wife & your dog in the trunk of your car for 4 hrs, then let them out, one wants to kill you, one wants to kiss you 

 

Dan...Sorry that happened to you all...things like this are just horrible and so are the people that do these things.  About 18 years ago we had a Dalmatian named Missy...she loved everyone and was motherly towards children.  Our one neighbor who did not like dogs came over around a 8 foot high privacy fence and gave her rat poison...we had here from birth and she was just like a child to us.  They did nothing to the guy.

One of the prescription drugs that I take on a daily basis is Onglyza, for the control of my blood sugar, as I am a Stage 2 diabetic.  My blood sugar numbers are all good due to watching my diet and taking the Onglyza and Metformin.  (latest # is 97 and my A1C is 6.4).  When we went to my local Target pharmacy to pick up my prescription refills they advised that the co-pay for Onglyza had gone up......  A 90 day refill supply would cost me $459.00...!!!!!!  There is no way in hell that I can afford that.  I and the pharmacy called my PCP to see if he can either prescribe a generic for Onglyza, or a different, cheaper drug.

Drug prices are ridiculous!!!  The drug companies are so profit oriented causing so many people to not be able to afford the drugs they need.  Yeah, I know, the corporate mindset is to make a profit... but come on...!!!

I'm not trying to make this a political thing, I'm just "irked".

Rich, I don't blame you for being irked as $150 per month for ONE medication is a scary cost, and you know that it's not going to go down. The profit on drugs and many other things is called GREED!

I have a set Copay for my Meds 13 Scripts a month at $15.00 per Script @ $195.00 month 

Sound Good? ha ? don't want to know what my premium cost me for my Health Insurance ??

But it still a Life Saver no pun intended for I see my Primary Doctor every 30 Days not to mention my other Doctors 

Seriously if not for Health Coverage I would be Broke and Homless and in debt till no end or worse fact is heck be in a Pine Box by now 

Guess all this is on my mind went in early this morning for a Colonoscopy told me the procedure went fine ok but what about the :::: results well know how that goes wait till I see my Doctor on the 22nd on this month ???

My health insurance company doesn't help much on a couple of my meds..

I had a pre-existing condition which they accepted (as the law reguires), they just don't want to pay for the meds that treat it (which the law does NOT require)..

but they were able to buy a competing insurance company for several billion dollars with their profits.....so it's working for them just fine I guess.

It's sad that in a country with all of the knowledge, technology, and advancements in medicine that we have, so many people simply can't get the medicine they need because they just can't afford it. That's not right.

I saw a report on 60 Minutes a while ago on the cost of prescription drugs. Cancer drugs are especially expensive. They were talking bout a certain cancer medicine that costs $10,000 a month! (or was it a year? Either way, that's insane).

So they asked the drug company exec what the point was of marketing a "miracle drug" for cancer when nobody can afford to use it? The best drug in the world is useless if nobody can afford it!

i hit the doughnut hole on my prescription drug plan and it hurts way before that happens.  i take 26 pills a day all but 3 are MS related. Also read an article that there won't be a cost of living raise on my social security ...

I cannot imagine what some of you guys are going through in regards to health issues and related costs. 

Every day I count my blessings that my health has endured. 

Thanks to MrsG I quit smoking, curtailed the drinking and as of today am 60 lbs lighter than two tears ago. 

Over the counter allergy medicine and Ibuprofen for some snuffles and twinges is all I require right now. I gave up on the VA decades ago and deal with those "issues" on my own. That's what the Ibuprofen is for. 

I am truly blessed.

Don, the side affects is very bad. I have had MS for almost half my life. I am a very positive person and it does help.

Carl is  a real trooper I know hes been a friend and bud of mine for some time....hes also a gifted builder considering his problems or not.  Many of us here have to face the  facts of having to try and deal with the insanely high prices of medications...me too...and there way out of control.  I take so many there is just no reason to need a breakfast...then there is lunch and bed time.  I am lucky to have good insurance but even at that the monthly co-pay its still crazy high all added up.

Auto Parts can't  believe this so my Daily Driver '03 Nissian Altima had developed a multi miss firing about last week so I plug my OBD II into it and gives me a code P0300 multiple misfiring detected so I go after the the Boot wires to the plugs and find 3 out of the 4 tube seal chambers filled with oil ?

will of course this is my problem no way am i getting good spark ?? to my plugs from the boot wires when they are sitting in oil ? so I proceed to go ahead and rectify this problem and get it corrected and pull the Valve Cover and Yes the Seals are shot They Must be Replaced now they are just fancy looking 0-Rings that sit in the cover so me thinking heck can't cost that much ? ..... WRONG Now this is my IRK for the day Can't buy just the 0-Rings Must replace the whole Valve Cover ??. You know one of those Nissian Quirks (I miss the old Chevy Days) So no not a few cents for some 0-Rings but $130.00 + CA tax for a Valve Cover and then to look at ......i ask Steve the guy at the Auto Store where is the Gasket for this  over ? Oh will have to purchase that separate he looks at and says just use the old one ?? yea right dude. 

So Really what should just be and easy replacement has cost me $$ for what amounts to a 0-rings leaking into my tube cylinders 

and of course Murphys Law.... New Plugs, New Boot Wires , New Boot Wires, New Air Fliter , New PVC ...... Stop Oil Leak in Tube Chambers so the Boots and Tips of Plugs no longer sit in a Oil Bath hope to make  the code go away a make  my Nissian Run like it Should wish me luck guys 

Any Mechanics on board here ? Let me know if I am heading in the right direction ?

I remember when if your headlight burned out, you replaced the bulb, which cost a buck or two.

Now your headlight burns out and there's no way to replace the bulb. You have to replace the whole headlight assembly, which I have heard runs several HUNDRED bucks in some cases. For ONE freaking headlight.

you should check the distributor cap and rotor (assuming Nissan hasn't gotten rid of those yet).
