crazyjim Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I have 2 Rat Roasters sitting in the que for building. I can't decide which of your versions I like better, so I'll keep watching your progress.
Custom Mike Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) The one with the Z'd frame looks great, I want to do one like that now! Edited October 10, 2013 by Custom Mike
cobraman Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Cool. I think I'm going to like that lowboy.
Agent G Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I absolutely love highboys, but that lowboy is looking spectacular. More I say ! G
Jordan 191 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I have one to start soon too. These are great so far!
crazyrichard Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 very nice def need to chop the grille a bit of the z-ed version would finish the look off perfect
rv1963 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Looking good, I can never get enough of these hot rod builds.
awhitegt Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Bradley, I have to know where the windshield comes from on the highboy body? Is it aftermarket or does it come with a kit?
squirrel886 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I'll post a few more pics toward the end of the week as I barely have time to work on models. But I did get some more works done w/ the interior. The windscreen on the Highboy is from the AMT 32 Phantom kit. I filled in the center vent on the cowl, sanded down the lip molded on the cowl for the kit windscreen, and filled the recesses for the windshield posts.
plastikjunkie2 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 heres my take I really enjoyed this kit
Bernard Kron Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Nice work so far on both of them. They both sit well. I'll be curious as to how you handle the valence panel below the trunk lid on the low boy, which, along with the notch in the frame rails for the exhaust and the IMHO silly hood ports, are among the major complaints I have about this "modified re-issue", which results in additional work to make what is now Revell's only 1/25th scale Roadster a more universal model. And, yes, do consider a shortened grill shell on the Low Boy...
cobraman Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Love it all except the tail lights. Just one mans opinion.
plastikjunkie2 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 thanks . and holy smokes squirrel we must think alike. I love the drive tunnel and drilling the holes definitely makes it ..it would've been a lot easier for revel to just mold them with the holes and maybe have a filler piece like the amt 62 buicks side ducts... anyways hurry up and its not gonna be blue is it lol
squirrel886 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Bernard, the rear valence will be gone before paint. It should be on the table at the NNL, hopefully. I build so slow though. Erich, no worries. Its not going to be blue. I'm still undecided. I wish I was going to SEMA this year for ideas, but I won't be making the trip this year. Tom Geiger Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Love it all except the tail lights. Just one mans opinion. And I love the tail light treatment! LOL I like things I haven't seen done a million times before.
NHRA715 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 very nice, what kit is this, I would like to build this one when I get a bet better at it....
squirrel886 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 John, here is the kits both started out as:
squirrel886 Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 I'm thinking gunmetal/metallic gray for the Highboy.
