Casey Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Did I miss the exit ramp for this conversation? I think I'm gonna make a U-turn and get back on the main road. Any crazy rumors floating around about the releases? We're back on topic.
johnbuzzed Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Sorry to get off-point, but I can't see all the excitement over "America's sports car", when the manufacturer had some 60 years to get it right.
Mr mopar Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Here it is the 16th of Oct and still nothing what's going on REVELL?????????????
Deano Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Here it is the 16th of Oct and still nothing what's going on REVELL????????????? :) There! Fixed it for you.
Matt T. Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 First it was iHobby/NNL weekend. Then it was 10/15. I'm getting tired of this. Somebody knows the date when the Automotive releases can be revealed. When is it?!
johnbuzzed Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Remember when there was a time when we didn't know what was going to be released until we saw ads in Car Model or Model Car Science, even Rod and Custom? Sometimes, we were actually pleasantly surprised by seeing cool new stuff in person, on the shelves in the stores. I kinda miss those days.
Casey Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 First it was iHobby/NNL weekend. Then it was 10/15. I'm getting tired of this. Somebody knows the date when the Automotive releases can be revealed. When is it?! Revell has never stated an official date for their 2014 announcements, so when they are ready, they'll let us know. Gerry was told it will be sometime on OR after October 15, 2013, so that's as official as it gets. The announcements will be here soon enough, so please, be patient.
johnbuzzed Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 They're models, people. They're only car models.
High octane Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I have enough projects on my bench and waiting in my "stash" so anytime Revell makes their announcement is okay with me. Yes, even two years from now.
Brett Barrow Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 We though it'd be iHobby weekend because that's when they did it last year, but IIRC, iHobby was later in October last year. Last I heard they were waiting on the OK about some licensing agreements that apply to some of the new announcements. There's a couple good 'uns in this year's batch, trust me...
johnbuzzed Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 But would they not have obtained the license agreements before beginning production on a kit?
Rob Hall Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 But would they not have obtained the license agreements before beginning production on a kit? One would think so...
Brett Barrow Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 But would they not have obtained the license agreements before beginning production on a kit? Well, you usually have to have mock-ups to show to the licensing folks, so some development has to be done beforehand. I'm sure they know what it takes to get the car companies' licensing by now. It's possible it might be some sort of movie/TV show deal they're waiting on, those are a little bit different. But that's just me speculating. They could be running right on schedule...
Danno Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Remember when there was a time when we didn't know what was going to be released until we saw ads in Car Model or Model Car Science, even Rod and Custom? Sometimes, we were actually pleasantly surprised by seeing cool new stuff in person, on the shelves in the stores. I kinda miss those days. I remember when we didn't know what new kits were being produced . . . until we saw them on the shelves. No pre-release hype, no magazine leaks, no internet, just walk into the store and see what's there today!
Deano Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Clearly the management of the model companies are inept. The companies should fire the lot and come here to hire the replacements.
Rob Hall Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I suspect they will announce what they announce when they announce what they announce. At some time in the future.
martinfan5 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I suspect they will announce what they announce when they announce what they announce. At some time in the future. So you are saying that they will announce what they have to announce when they are ready to announce it sometime in the futrue?
Rob Hall Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 So you are saying that they will announce what they have to announce when they are ready to announce it sometime in the future? Yup...what will be will be.
Austin T Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Kind of reminds of the rule about how you're not supposed to feed gremlins after midnight ... But their just so cute, what could possibly go wrong?
Agent G Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 What it is, what it was and what it shall be. G
Danno Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt . . . wore it out and bought another.
Rob Hall Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 The truth is out there.....but can any of us handle the truth?
martinfan5 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 The truth is out there.....but can any of us handle the truth? But for us to be able to handle said truth, we must first know that it is
Rob Hall Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 LoL...I'm getting goofy from exhaustion from the last few weeks of work and the endless speculation about new releases...looking forward to my weekend getaway, there will be an outcome Saturday to the Indy Car Series championship and I'll be there.
Deano Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 The truth is out there.....but can any of us handle the truth? The TRUTH?? You can't handle the truth! Man, I love that movie, even if it does have Tom Cruise in it! Jack and Demi more than make up for Tom's presence.
