There was never a "On the Workbench" for this car as I wasn't a member here when I built it. In fact I have lots of build photos but at that time I was using a film camera! So I guess I'd have to do some scanning of old photos, but I'd really just like to share the finished product with y'all. I grew up in a Ford family and before I understood the economics and tradition of building an old Ford with a Chevy engine I hated the fact that all you saw were mouse motors in Deuces, unless it was a flat head. So this car has an R & D Unique stage III frame, a Monogram roadster body, a Boss 429 from a Glidden kit, a C-6 auto trans from a Fairlane GTA kit, and lots of scratchbuilt fuel system, wiring, and brakelines. It has a dry sump system, tranny mounted alternator, and the tranny cooler is mounted on the bottom of the trans. The exhaust is BB Chevy manifolds and aluminum tubing, Apologies for going on and on, here's the car.

The frame is Tamiya sky blue, the body is an attempt at teal using a mixture of blue metallic and green laquer.

they look like otaki tires, may be a wheel/tire set.

I have a set of those set aside for a 69 GTO project but I haven't seen them on the market for a few years, you may be able to find new-old-stock.

great job . i,m curious ,where did you get the wheels and tires

ty

The tires are Otakis. I bought them in Toledo a long time ago. I'm not sure if they're still around or not but I found some on ebay with the description "Rock Machine Tire and Wheel Set." They come with different wheels but I think that the wheels I used came with those tires.

Super nice build, great detail. Very sharp wheels. l don't care for the blue frame...

Actually the body was supposed to be more blue, and under normal lighting it is, but I agree, if I had it to do over I would have made the frame match in some other way. Maybe the frame would have matched better if I would have just went with a simple medium blue on the body.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. I'll be posting more builds and projects soon.

Nice build Tim, I love the monster Ford motor in there, it's just right! The first '32 I built used the same rims and tires, mine were from American Satco, and I wish I had bought ever set I saw, those are some gorgeous rims and tires!

I only wish that I had sanded the tread surface on them, but due to the age of the build and extensive use of CA adhesive I dare not try now.
