Tom Geiger Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Tom G., I did move to another state (Long Island, NY to western PA) but she followed us...!!! You must've left a trail. We disappeared overnight! LOL Actually we left the invite open. Both daughters had good jobs and lives they wished to continue in NJ. They visit often. Probably because we have a pool.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) Remarkable job on that promo - especially after seeing so many of Jo-Han's Forward Look Mopars shrunk/warped into a banana shape. Looks like the kit Jo-Han would have made if they had started a year earlier. Edited October 15, 2013 by ChrisBcritter
Ramfins59 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Thanks a lot everyone. Chris, this is a Johan promo.
slusher Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Very impressive build Rich, great color choices...
rocklandrambler Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Another "Piece of Perfection". All of "Mother Mopar's" cars had the dash mounted rear view mirror into the early '60's. My '60 Dodge Dart Phoenix had one and I hated it. A quick trip to the closest junk yard (that's what they were called back then) got me a new roof mounted mirror. Keep those wheels rolling.
charlie8575 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Looks great, Rich. Black/yellow looks fantastic on Forward-Look cars. The overall execution on this is fantastic. Charlie Larkin
TFchronos Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Beautiful work again, it looks perfect in my eyes. I wish I could have grown up around these cars, each and everyone of them was a true work of art. The 50's will always be my favorite decade of cars. Thank you for sharing this fine statement of 58' with us.
Ramfins59 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Thanks again guys. Jonathan, I obviously agree with you about the 50's cars. Those are my favorite years for cars too.
Plastheniker Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 In my opinion the late fifties brought the most attractive American cars and your models proves this with perfection. Simply fantastic!
Ramfins59 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 Thanks fellas, I appreciate your kind comments.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Thanks a lot everyone. Chris, this is a Johan promo. Oh, I know that - what I meant was it looks so nice and straight it resembles what a styrene Jo-Han kit from 1958 would have looked like (they didn't make styrene kits until 1959).
Chris White Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Hey Rich, please don't stop building. I have enjoyed all of them. How many in the collection now ?
Geno Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Another great build Rich, what's next on the plate?
Ramfins59 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Thanks guys. Chris and Gene, I've got a BUNCH lined up still to build for the 1950's. Here's the list by year (if you're interested); (I didn't acquire all of them yet *) 1950 - Caddy (Modelhaus) * " - Ford (in the pile) - Olds (in the pile) 1951 - Chevy (already built) " - Ford (Modelhaus conversion)* " - Pontiac (Hendrix Mfg.)* 1952 - Hudson * " - Chevy (Hendrix conversion)* 1953 - Chevy (in the pile) " - Ford (already built) " - Hudson (in the pile) " - Studebaker (already built) 1954 - Chevy Sedan Delivery (in the pile) 1955 - Chevy (already built) " - Ford (Modelhaus conversion)* " - Olds (already built) " - Pontiac (Promo in the pile) 1956 - Caddy (Modelhaus)* - Chevy (in the pile) " - Chevy Nomad (already built) " - DeSoto (already built) " - Dodge (Modelhaus)* " - Ford (in the pile) " - Lincoln (Modelhaus)* " - Mercury " * " - Olds (already built) " - Plymouth " " - Pontiac " 1957 - Chevy (already built) - All others yet to build or buy. 1958 - Buick (already built) " - Caddy " " - Chevy " " - Chevy Sedan Delivery (already built) " - Chrysler (Promo)* " - DeSoto (Promo)* " " Dodge (already built) " - Edsel " " - Ford " " - Lincoln * " - Mercury * " - Olds (already built) " - Plymouth " " - Pontiac * 1959 - Buick (in the pile) " - Caddy " " - Chevy (already built) " - Chevy El Camino (in the pile) " - Chrysler * " - DeSoto (in the pile) " - Dodge (already built) " - Ford * " - Imperial (in the pile) " - Lincoln * " - Mercury * " - Olds (in the pile) " - Plymouth (in the pile) " - Pontiac * " - Rambler Wagon (in the pile) WHEW....!!! As you can see, although I've built quite a few so far, I've still got a LOOOONNNGGG way to go, and a lot more to spend to get a complete 1950's collection...... and I forgot the Nash Metropolitans which Modelhaus also makes for a few model years. If I missed anything please let me know. I pulled the '56 Ford kit out onto my bench tonight so we'll see how that one turns out. As a side note, if anyone reading this has any of the cars that are marked with a * above, and you can part with it, shoot me a PM and we'll talk. Thanks everyone.
Ramfins59 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Sorry to keep this going, but I forgot to list Corvettes and T-Birds. I have the '57 & '58 Corvette kits and the '57 & '58 T-Bird kits. The rest I still have to get.
