Dr. Cranky Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Please keep in mind that you can find this stuff all over the web for a lot cheaper. But some of the designs are either not available or are too expensive. WATCH THE NEW DISCOVERY HERE
slusher Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Very cool Doc. l love the two patterns you had in your video. l have to give it a try....Thanks
Dr. Cranky Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Thanks, Carl. When you try it, let me know how you like it. I like mine matte finish, and this stuff is too shiny.

Dr. Cranky Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Nothing a little Dullcote can't fix
Dr. Cranky Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Harry, you found the motherload, but the prices are not cheap. I guess in groups of 6 or more, then it is a bit cheaper. There's got to be a way of getting a hold of full sheets instead of these finger nail shapes.
Tom Geiger Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Cool Harry! Noting that one of the ads shows a Walmart sticker of $8.50 on a box, and they're offered on eBay for about $2 each in the lots, I'd say they weren't a big sales success, and maybe hit closeout?
Dr. Cranky Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Tom, that's what I am hoping for. As a matter of fact, on AMAZON some of the checker patterns are going to ridiculous money because I think most of this stuff is going to disappear soon. A fast-dying fad, which will be good for us. Makes sense to also look on the shelves at the Dollar Stores.
Tom Geiger Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Makes sense to also look on the shelves at the Dollar Stores. And check the clearance aisle at Walmart! I've found some amazing things there.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I like the look of some of them; the zebra skin in particular looks pretty close to scale, and one of the floral designs might work for a Barracuda ModTop! Some of the plaids might be good for '50s accessory seat covers as well.
cobraman Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I think I would try it if I could get it in sheets instead of these small pieces.
Kaleb Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Check rue21 I've seen them there real cheap. And other stores of that variety.
Sixx Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I used some of those on a custom Dodge Copperhead...snakeskin They didn't stick too well, dullcoat would have looked better They are also kind of brittle, and they crack if not too careful
Dr. Cranky Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 There you go. It looks great. I just used some of the zebra pattern on the finished Tesla ChargeĀ®
Sixx Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 There you go. It looks great. I just used some of the zebra pattern on the finished Tesla ChargeĀ® Dang Doc, yours turned out WAY better than mine!!!! Looks freekin awesome in that!!! Nice job man!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 I like yours, and the pattern I am going to use on the 64 Impala lowrider.
slusher Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Doc l found some Maybelline ones at walmart and l picked up a zebra pattern. Mabbelline was cheaper then Sally Hansen. Edited November 7, 2013 by slusher
vypurr59 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hey Dr Cranky, after viewing your vid on youtube, i found some of those strips but they are a color changing style. Found them in a dollar store for 1 buck. I have not tried them yet, but after I do, will give you some feedback. Also bringing up the nail sections of the stores, I also found nail jewels, and I used some for blue dot tail lights on a car.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Jeff, those are perfect for doing seat inserts. Cool find.
