1930fordpickup Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 County. Pop. Country pop. Crossover. Call it whatever you want, I couldn't care less about the label. I just like the sound. And that Kimberly chick... I never said it sounded bad Harry . They do sound good , just ain't country .
Harry P. Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 I never said it sounded bad Harry . They do sound good , just ain't country . I couldn't care less whether they're "country" or not. I really don't care about what category any artist is supposed to represent, I care about what they sound like. I love Pink Floyd. Are they a rock band? Are they "progressive rock," whatever that means? Are they "space rock" or "art rock" or who knows what else? Who cares! I like their sound. Same with LBT and all the other musicians I like. Category... genre... where they belong in the overall scheme of things doesn't matter one bit to me. I listen to music, I don't look at who or what they're "supposed" to be as defined by others.
slusher Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Harry just curious do you like the group sound or the girl the best??
JollySipper Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I would call Pink Floyd "concept rock".... Harry, you seem to be a pretty eclectic person. I believe you could really get into Phish's music. They do everything from bluegrass to calypso to jazz to straight-up rock'n'roll. Some songs I would recommend.... "Stash" "Guelah Papyrus" "Demand" and the entire live album titled A Live One....... Good group.....
gbdolfans Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) I love LBT also!!! Like Harry, the music I listen to varies.I love The Doors,Beach Boys(Most music from the 50's to early 70's) along with more modern music like PINK,Carrie,Martina McBride some Bruno,etc... Nxr Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Carrie Underwood! two black Cadillacs and blown away, great tracks.

"Stash" "Guelah Papyrus" "Demand" and the entire live album titled A Live One....... Good group..... You're right, I do like a variety of music. For example, two of my all-time favorite bands are the Eagles and Pearl Jam. I think you'd agree they occupy slightly different places in the musical universe... ... but I love them both. But I've never really gotten into the Phish sound. Just not really something I like. Never liked the Grateful Dead either (sort of Phish's musical ancestor). I can't explain it... I just like what I like!
Harry P. Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Harry just curious do you like the group sound or the girl the best?? Well, let me put it this way. If I had only heard LBT without ever seeing them, I'd like them, because I like their sound. I love groups that do harmony vocals, and LBT fits right into that category. But after seeing them, let's just say that Kimberly is mighty easy on the eyes! (I'm a sucker for cute blondes, especially talented ones)...

lordairgtar Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I knew the music bigots would pop out on this thread. Hillbilly hyuck? Really? I think a lot of listen to country because our beloved rock and roll disappeared and country still appreciates the Guitar. My stepdaughter went from being a pop music fan to being a country listener because the pop tarts as a group do not possess talent and depend on studio musicians and auto tune to make them sound good. I like everything from Spike Jones to Tupac. Give me some good rockabilly or even some old soul music where the singers actually could sing. Ever her Britney sing without auto tune enhancing her voice? You can't even go to one of her concerts and expect live singing...she lip syncs. I've heard karaoke singers who could do her songs better than she can. My provenance for this is that I sang back up vocals for a coupe of bands, earned a scholarship fro the Layton scholl of the Arts for music and have been in choirs. Though I don't do much singing anymore, I have been invited for a karaoke reunion show. Oh, and give a listen to Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes (shameless plug) LBT is an awesome group and will go far in music. God! Do I ramble or what? LOL

Nick Winter Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I like Little Big Town, been listening to them for a few years now, bought there first album on CD, it's pretty scratched but still in my truck. I'm not big into country music (new or old) but do enjoy a few select musicians and bands. Nick
Custom Hearse Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I like everything from Spike Jones to Tupac. SPIKE JONES?!? I love the guy! "As the sun floats lazily in the East, And our boat sinks slowly in the West..."
Nxr Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 if you guys really want a respectful and proper rap artist, try sharpshooters- analyze or group home, i know rap music is not the highlight here but these artists are worth looking into by anyone.

Personally, I'd rather chew on aluminum foil than listen to ANY rap music .. that's just me though ...
Nxr Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I don't deny your opinion but rap music has some long, lost respected underground artists that had their genre entirely destroyed by today's mainstream.
Chuck Most Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I don't deny your opinion but rap music has some long, lost respected underground artists that had their genre entirely destroyed by today's mainstream. By today's mainstream you mean Eminem, right? (Yes, yes... I know he actually is a decent rapper, but his voice is annoying. Speak from the throat, Marshall, not your sinus! )
Nxr Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) I meant more like commercial rap such as kanye, drake, etc anything that is considered popular and will play on radio, versus artists such as jedi mind tricks, dj premier, the roots, sharpshooters, mobb deep. Eminem's really not that mainstream because he is a seasoned rapper and has been around and done it all... If you listen to his very first album infinite, which was released on a mixtape it contains songs such as it's okay, which is the best underground eminem song, with him being only 18 on it and using the traditional Detroit-ambient beat style, which is rarely around! Also artists such as Atmosphere are just great, few Minnesotan rappers around. Edited November 11, 2013 by Nxr

Custom Hearse Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 ( Speak from the throat, Marshall, not your sinus! ) I'll try, but I give no guarantee... No, it's not just you. It's me, too. X3...
Danno Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 "Rap Music" is an oxymoron. And, It is missing its leading "C."

highway Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I think that Country does not even know what Country is anymore. Way to many pop songs! County. Pop. Country pop. Crossover. Call it whatever you want, I couldn't care less about the label. I just like the sound. And that Kimberly chick... How about this for crossover country?? Cowboy Troy has a style called "Hick Hop" and has quite a few songs performed with Big and Rich.
