Ace-Garageguy Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I'm looking for recommendations for spun aluminum tube velocity stacks OR exhaust tips with the right look to replicate the one stack clearly visible on the forward, right-hand engine in this shot of Thompson's Challenger I.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Thanks John. I'll have a look there. Edited December 2, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
chris02719 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I am pretty sure that scale repros plus had those exact stacks in turned aluminum at one point. Not sure if they're still around, but I would check with them. Hope this helps and you can find what you need. Chris
wisdonm Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 http://www.ebay.com/sch/intermeccanica/m.html?item=231102827552&ViewItem=&ssPageName=ADME%3AL%3AEOISSA%3AUS%3A1123&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 This guy has a great product at very fair prices. Many sizes available.
my80malibu Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 The problem is most of the stacks available seem to be flared out to much. Bill you should try wire termination ferrulles used in electronics those could be flared by hand.
Mike Kucaba Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Try RB Motion. If he hasn't already made them at some point he'll do them for you. I do believe I bought some from him that may be similar,
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Thanks for all the responses, and I'm following up all of the leads. Seriously...thanks.
High octane Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I like the aluminum stacks from Parts by Parks.
Mike Kucaba Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I second the Parks ones. I looked thru my aftermarket items and he does have ones closest to what you want without custom work. look for Pn # 4005

Thanks again. EDIT: I found this pic of a model by Jairus. Copy says they're PN 4004. Is this the same amount of bellmouth as the 4005?? Perfect. Edited December 3, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy

tubbs Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 speed city has them, all the way at the bottom of the page. 3 different sizes. http://www.speedcityresin.com/PartsPage.htm
JPolli Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Tubbs Thanks for your reply. Checked out Speed City. They are lil' too big for what I want. Jim
wisdonm Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) These should work. They are for sale most of the time. I've used them, and they are great. He has many other sizes also. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231193397071?ssPageName=STRK:MEUNSOLD:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1562.l2649 Edited April 17, 2014 by wisdonm
High octane Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Check out the injector stacks from JDS Racing as they are awesome, with anodized flared tips in red or blue.
espo Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I have used aluminum tubing from a local hardware store. You can cut it any length you want, and use a nail to flair the end as needed. Have seen tubing at Hobby Lobby also.
sfhess Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Speed City has injector stacks in three sizes. Not aluminum, though. They are silver plated copper tube. www.speedcityresin.com. Click on "PARTS" and scroll to the bottom.
hemi Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 How about the ones in the amt parts pack eight per set.
oldnslow Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 The ones in the parts pack are similar to what I have available, but I also offer 4 different lengths, for a much more reasonable cost.
shucky Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Just look up uninsulated ferrules. A couple bucks will buy you a lifetime supply.
