Jantrix Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Thanks very much guys. I finally got my club plaque for the front and I'll do the license plate at the same time. I may post another pic or two.
Guest Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 That's a cool looking little deuce Rob! The wheels and tires really set it off.
Jantrix Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 I knew you'd like it Jim. Thanks Roger.
realgone58 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Saw this one on our club page. Man, what a beautiful deuce. I love the grille.
bbowser Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I like the grill and headlight combo. Great rake and flathead. Altogether an outstanding piece of work!
the goon Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Very cool. I'd take that as a full size any time. Mark
Tom Geiger Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I like it! I especially like the idea of building a vehicle you'd like to own in 1:1. That was the same premise that I built my recent Model A Roadster pickup. And when I hit that lottery I'm taking that model down to a rod shop! And I like the grill. It makes the roadster unique and I think it's very cool!
crazyrichard Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 very very nice , said it before , the end result is stunning
Jantrix Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 Thanks very much guys. Coming from such an excellent group of builders the compliments mean a lot. Tom, you bet I will too.
gluebomb Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Super build nice and clean. The tractor nose is great!
Jim Whalen Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Hi, Nice build of the deuce with a traditional but original look to it - not something that is easy to do! As others have said, it all ties together very well and is an excellent example of a model builder doing a bit of scale fabrication!
Jantrix Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 Thanks very much James, I'm happy that folks seem to get what I was shooting for. I posted it over on TRAK and except for a few, it's not getting much love.
The70judgeman Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Nice to see a Ford Flatty in a Ford instead of the usual Chevy SB 350. Looks really sharp!
Sixties Sam Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) Say has anyone ever mastered an up-top for this kit? That might be a nice touch on this build. I know the AMT kit had one. Has anyone ever noticed whether it fits the Revell kit? I used an old AMT top on a Revell Deuce roadster a few years ago. It fits pretty well. Here's a pic. Great work on your roadster! I like the channel and the front end treatment. Sam Edited December 25, 2013 by Sixties Sam
Jantrix Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Thanks guys! Sam, I really like your deuce. I'm going to have to look into getting one of those tops. Maybe in flat black for this build?
surfjunke Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Beautiful Deuce, Rob. Really like the front grill you made, very cool idea.
dantewallace Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Beautiful build Rob!!! Do you mind if I ask, where are the tires and wheels from? I must have them!!!!
Jantrix Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Dante, the wheels/tires are from the Revell '29 Ford pickup 2in1. Hands down the nicest set of wheels/tires I've worked with to date. I think they really make this build. Thanks very much for the compliments. Edited December 29, 2013 by Jantrix
dantewallace Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Thanks for the information. It's a shame they can't be purchased separate from the kit.
