Greg Cullinan Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Any football fans? I'm not much of a fan but always want my city's teams to do well. The Eagles have turned it up recently, usually they are strong all year and flop in playoffs. So maybe they can stay hot for next couple weeks. New Orleans tomorrow night, tough opponent.
tubbs Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 oh yea, long time football fan here. my Browns are..... well, that's another topic...... New Orleans has a lot of firepower, if the Eagles can stay on the ground and eat the clock with McCoy running the ball and some short passes, I think they can take it handily. even though the Eagles can also strike quickly, I think if it becomes a shootout, New Orleans will take it.
Danno Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Where I'm from, football talk is like politics and religion . . . all rolled into one. Know what I mean?
Rob Hall Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Just looking forward to seeing how my Broncos fare...

It's going to be cold and hostile. I think it'll be a run/defensive type of game. I'm all for the browns, look forward to the day they win a championship. I like there uniforms, gritty Cleveland as a city and that they are one of the early teams.

I went to a few Browns games when I lived in the area in the early '90s...and spent my childhood in Steeler territory..that part of the country still seems like home to me.
slusher Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I love football and I am a big Chiefs fan, so glad we have a coach. I also enjoy watching the Saints play. I never get upset just sit back and enjoy...

Never been to either city but can relate/respect the blue collar type of town.
Greg Cullinan Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Being a Lions fan I have given up. Had some decent games this year. And have a cool field. And I can't feel sorry for you.you have the red wings. Lol
curt raitz Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I'm afraid my "Niners" are gonna freeeze-up on that tundra they call Lambau Field

Lol We may have the Red Wings but they are not so good this year. Yes, Ford Field is very nice. Just wish they would trade Calvin Johnson to a winner ( New England).
hgbben Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I'm afraid my "Niners" are gonna freeeze-up on that tundra they call Lambau Field that's correct........us natives here are used to the cold
Harry P. Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Well, since the Packers beat the Bears in the last game of the season (the game that decided the NFC North title), I couldn't care less about the playoffs. However... I'd have to say that since the Bears are out of it, I wouldn't mind seeing the Packers go deep into the playoffs. And I wouldn't be too upset if the Broncos win it all. Or the Packers.
Modelmartin Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I'm afraid my "Niners" are gonna freeeze-up on that tundra they call Lambau Field I have to root for the Packers. My wife says so. She is a congenital Packer fan.
Quick GMC Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I'm a Detroit fan, what are these "playoffs" you speak of? I'd like to see Denver VS Seattle in the Super Bowl
hgbben Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I'm a Detroit fan, what are these "playoffs" you speak of? I'd like to see Denver VS Seattle in the Super Bowl That does like the most obvious outcome based upon all of the teams in it this year, but stranger things have happened.
curt raitz Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I have to root for the Packers. My wife says so. She is a congenital Packer fan. It would have to be the wife's influence...cuz nobody from Minnesota can rightfully root for the Packers... (spoken from a Bemidji, Minnesota native, but enjoying life in sunny warm California)

High octane Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I have a "playoff party" to attend next weekend, and hopefully it'll be "fruit full" for me as it has been in the past.
Brett Barrow Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Since realignment in 02, only 2 #1 seeds (03 Patriots & 09 Saints) have won the Super Bowl. More #1's (9) have lost their first playoff game than made it to the Super Bowl (8), so I doubt we'll see a Broncos vs Seahawks matchup, and I feel pretty strongly that neither team will make it. Personally I have a strong feeling about the Eagles making it to the Super Bowl (I would, I'm an Eagles fan) teams that have to play their way into the playoffs tend to go deeper as of late. Eagles vs Chiefs? That would be a good story line, Andy Reid being the Eagles' ex-coach and all...
Quick GMC Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Eagles and chiefs would be like the special Olympics bowl.
