skymnky721 Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Ok,,so I had a few leftover parts in my bxs,,couldnt decide what to do with them,,now,,do ya ever just take some stuff and bash+ see what happens? This car would never work as a real car with out some major work,,but its fun to look at,,IMO. Just for fun.
Lunajammer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I always wanted to see someone do this. It would take a lot of work to make it a viable auto, but I love the innovations you did and it still looks like a party wagon to me.
skymnky721 Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks LJ,,Im wondering if anyone will know what the body shell came from? Its from a well known kit from the 60's,,,, starts with an S,,,and ends with a E.
disabled modeler Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Cool idea....hum....next one using that body maybe a boat?
skymnky721 Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 yea,,it would tread water quite well now that you mention that,,"aqua-rider" lol
PappyD340 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Kind of reminds me of the old three wheel golf cart with a 800 HP V8, WOW you could play 18 holes in no time with that!! it' a very cool build Scott I like it, hey we are plastic gurus we can do anything we like, even if it ain't politicly correct!!
the goon Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I like it. The front reminds me of the 1946 Davis a little.
jbwelda Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 either the silhouette or its trailer...pretty kool for a throw together! jb
Guest Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 It's the trailer from the silhouette kit, diffrent and creative!
crazyrichard Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 robin reliant on steroids !! haha btw i also have that body ... mayeb one day i will make a sister for your can
ZTony8 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 This is clever! Not too many other things can be done with the Silhouette trailer-execpt maybe to use it as a butter dish after slicing off the Targa bar.
skymnky721 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Yes your right,,its the trailer from the Silhouette! LOL What happened was I built the car yrs ago,,and started on the trailer,,and guess what? The car wouldnt fit in the trailer w/the glass on it! What the? So I looked things over to see if I mis-assembled the trailer,,,and I followed the directions right,,and it just wouldnt fit,,so I walked from finishing the trailer,,,went back a few weeks later,,and thought" "ok,,so what am I gonna do with this"? And I was determined to do something with it,,the kit was nearly 30$,,so I was going to get something out of it whether the mfgr wanted me to or not! lol So grabbed the spare parts bx,,and started sizing stuff ect,,now that I look at it,,I should have saved that caddy engine for something else,,itrs a cool mtr. I guess I could always pop it out and install in something else. You guys are cracking me up with some of the "suggestions" as what it may be. lol I promise to not post such bizzareness in the future,,I thought about it later after posting,,and thought " maybe I shouldnt have posted that,,some or many{for all I know} may not dig such a wacked idea",, Im not too good at "conforming" to conventional approach to some things,,maybe Im the one whos "whacked" lol. Thanks for being tolerant to some of my warped builds! Happy Building!
Chuck Most Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 LOVE THIS! Great way to dispose of spares!
skymnky721 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Thanks for the kind words,,ya know,,if I spent some real time on it,,it could be made into a " drivable" car,,the headers would have to re-routed 1st,{ little warm to the front seat riders where they exit now,,lol} maybe some larger tires,,,a windshield of some type. It might work,,thanks for looking.
garryrenfro Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 There is a photo in a 60's magazine, don't recall which one, which shows a truck made from this trailer. The rear of the trailer is the front of the truck. Maybe someone remembers. I'll search through my mags and see if I can find it, if one of you fine folk don't find it first.
ToyLvr Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Cool idea....hum....next one using that body maybe a boat? That's what I was thinking; add some propellers and make it the modern version of the "Amphicar". ;-)
