Austin T Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 At our local Walmarts they wouldn't let the kids talk unless asked or approach someone to buy cookies, If they do they are gone.
Maindrian Pace Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 They used to sell door-to-door (chaperoned) which was really cute, but now they don't do that anymore, they just ambush you at grocery stores or the parents sell them at their work. Maybe general laziness is a sign of the times, but I just say, "No thanks." -MJS
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 NEW!!! SMALLER PACKAGE !!! COSTS MORE !!! It's the American way.
High octane Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 An easy way to solve the problem anyone has with Girl Scout Cookies is: don't buy them, and don't eat 'em. Very simple.
Baugher Garage Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I'll put on my political hat for a moment. Most of the proceeds from the cookies go to the "corporation." They're fiercely pro choice... I'm fiercely not. If you want to support your local girl scout troop, just make a donation directly to the troop. OK, back to modeling.
Ramfins59 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 I must be the only one that loves the shortbread cookies No, you're not the only one Dave, I like those shortbread cookies too.
Tom Geiger Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I had a hot soccer mom smile at me in front of the post office.... She hit me for three boxes!
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I had a hot soccer mom smile at me in front of the post office.... She hit me for three boxes! Yup, that style of marketing always works on me too. Every time.
Casey Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 My neighbor just game me two boxes a few minutes ago, including one box of Thin Mints. They will not live 'til sunup on Sunday.
Craig Irwin Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 NEW!!! SMALLER PACKAGE !!! COSTS MORE !!! It's the American way. Made in China.
slusher Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I had a hot soccer mom smile at me in front of the post office.... She hit me for three boxes! That would have worked on me also..
High octane Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Me also, and my wife would wonder why I bought five MORE boxes of cookies, since we already bought some from our niece.
Thatswhatshesaid Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Samoas! They are also called Caramel deLights. Yea, I just looked it up. Apparently GS cookies are made by two different bakers and each call it a different thing. Or maybe people thought they were made from real Samoans? One of the ice cream companies sells Girl Scout Samoa Cookie ice cream. To die for! Samoas are also sold as Keebler "Coconut Dreams" at your local grocery store. Dreyers/Edys makes the girl scout cookie ice cream. Although they have now removed the Girl Scout and Samoa/Thin Mint tags for licensing reasons. Same product however.
charlie8575 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I had a hot soccer mom smile at me in front of the post office.... She hit me for three boxes! Where's your troops getting their scoutmistresses (I dunno...what's their title?) from? Here, most of the Girl Scout mothers make the frumpy old fraus that advise the Rainbow assemblies, both now, and when I was a kid in DeMolay, look desirable. Charlie Larkin
High octane Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I've been enjoying my Girl Scout cookies and they're going fast!
Ju Ju Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I think the Girl Scouts have partnered up with the Keebler Elves. They have the same business practices, more money-less cookies.
