Greg Cullinan Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) I like that one a lot. But 20 grand for a rotten shell, sheesh.and then the resto guy has 1700 hours into it. That's a pretty penny. Edited February 22, 2014 by Greg Cullinan
pharoah Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I like that.. The side kinda reminds me of a Delahaye.
Joe Handley Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I keep thinking of the Kaiser-Darrin with those pocket doors.......
Howard Cohen Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 If it was never driven or owned by Batman/Bruce Wayne, real or fictional, it isn't a real Batmobile If it is a Batmobile, where are all the toys, guns, gimmicks, rocket launchers, flashing lights? Where are the capes? And a woman never drove a Batmobile! Or is Batman secretly a crossdresser and is disguised as a woman
Psychographic Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) If it was never driven or owned by Batman/Bruce Wayne, real or fictional, it isn't a real Batmobile If it is a Batmobile, where are all the toys, guns, gimmicks, rocket launchers, flashing lights? Or is Batman secretly a crossdresser and is disguised as a woman I read an article about this car a couple of weeks ago, the car was not originally built as a batmobile. The guy who bought and restored it thought it would make a good batmobile, so that's the route he chose. Edited February 25, 2014 by Psychographic

DonW Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 ... And a woman never drove a Batmobile! Or is Batman secretly a crossdresser and is disguised as a woman What do you mean secretly?
Harry P. Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 There's a good reason Fox News is often called Faux News. Did you happen to actually read the article? "Although it was never officially the Caped Crusader’s car, a Batman comics-inspired vehicle – designed and built by a teenager in the early 1960s and left to rot for decades in the back of a Chicago warehouse – has been brought back to its original crime-fighting form. Created on a whim by young Forrest Robinson of Westmoreland, N.H, its swoopy, triple-tailfin body was formed from fiberglass and mated to the chassis of a 1956 Oldsmobile years before George Barris sketched his iconic car for the Batman TV series."
gtx6970 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) If it was designed, sketched, built years before the batman , how can it be called a 'batmobile' ps, it's uglier than sin,,,,,,,,IMO Edited February 26, 2014 by gtx6970

Harry, if they didn't read THAT paragraph, they certainly didn't read the next one wherein is revealed that it was used as a promotional prop: "It soon caught the eye of an All Star Dairy representative, who rented it from Robinson for a couple of years to use at promotional events for the company’s line of Batman ice cream and drink products." Thus, the Batman connection. Edited February 26, 2014 by Deano
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) If I were one of those guys with money falling from their arses, I would do something I dream about: I would buy the real Batmobile, the one Barris built ruining a Lincoln Futura for, and had it restored back to be a full stock Lincoln Futura the way it was first on display by FoMoCo. Then I would glue a bumper sticker to it saying phuque you Barris!!! Someone deleted my last phrase. If it was one of the admins, he could had the decency of leaving a note. Thet's why I'm editing the post, to put it back. Edited February 26, 2014 by Lovefordgalaxie

I'd love to see that done to the original car, leave the clones Barris built for the series alone, but make that Futura THEE Futura Concept Car again! Edited February 26, 2014 by Joe Handley
