mrm Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Not a fan of the color, but this is amazing work indeed. I like the great engineering effort put into this project and the execution seems flawless so far.
Speedpro Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 Really appreciate all the great comments everyone and thanks for following along. Been slow at the bench due to nice weather and the honey do list. Got a couple hour's in tonight and worked on the tail end getting the bmf applied. I Filled the tail lamp housings again and then did the lip of the housing. And then finished off with the trim under the trunk lid and down the sides...... And here's with the lenses set in the housing. The right hand lens don't fit to well. I'll see if that can be fixed. I stripped the chrome off of the blower. Then I cut a small piece of brass rod to mount the pulley to. The hole on the front of the blower was opened up to fit the rod and the piece glued in. The last pic is what I'm thinking of using to top off this hemi, but I'm not sure yet. More to come and thanks for looking........
crazyrichard Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 yes i know what you mean with the nice weather i also got a bit of a build dip .. have not even started a new project .. been moving dirt in the garden .. want to build a big wood deck / lounge earea in the back .. so i knwo what you mean but man that rear looks sweet .. what i also love it you took a less detailed and "good" kit and made it .... great .. loving the blower .. going to be one sweet model !!
Speedpro Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Been a couple weeks since a update. Just haven't had much time to build lately. Worked on the blower some more. I made the blower bigger as it looked to small when the engine was in the car. Took some sheet styrene and glued them together. I then shaped it and attached it to the back of the blower and added the end plate. Made the adapter that the injector hat and fuel lines go to also.......... Ended up painting the blower body color and wrapped the adapter with BMF. Before the blower was mounted to the engine I added a coil to finish the ignition. Here's a pic of the engine...... And in the engine bay............ Got the wheels mounted to the tires.
Speedpro Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Here's a few mockup pics............ Thanks for looking and more to come.......... Paul
rockin562 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Very nice. That color really seems to fit that car! Your doing an amazing job!!!
DeeCee Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) This is one VERY IMPRESSIVE Mopar, great work on those rear guards and engine bay mods. I'm impressed. Edited May 12, 2014 by DeeCee
geetee66 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Blown Hemi Charger?? What's not to love? I love the gleaming motor. Colour combo is spot-on, too. Cant wait to see more
crazyrichard Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 whouw what a build .. from a very simple kit version to this .. looks stunning
tubbs Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 awesome looking. the color really pops on that charger. take another look at your frame supports in the engine bay, they may be positioned where the radiator core support goes... of course I am going back to read the rest of the posts to see if you are actually using the core support. if it is, just trim the core support around the bracing. love those weld wheels, have a set on my 1:1 and 1 1/25 set that just sit in the box waiting to be mounted to something. nice to see pro streeters alive and well.
tubbs Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 yep, just as I suspected, I see pictures with the core support in place....... never mind.
1 bad55 stan Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 looks so cool, from the wheels to the paint, front to rear,i just love the pro street look, now i should get back to mine!
Dragfreak Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Absolutely beautiful work! extremely clean building.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 and people say these kits don't come out nice, I have to disagree... If you take the time to build it right, you can make any kit look down right great. I think this build is looking great so far, I too love the color of it.
BIG NICKY Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 this build looks great.....what did you use for the belt if i could ask
am73grand Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 That is really nice work so far. You're really turning this mediocre kit into a thing of beauty!
tooltas Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 yes u taking a so boring kit and bam u turn it up a big time killer pro streeter.
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Very nice. Great color choice for body color and the engine bay. Great job on the engine.
TFchronos Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) Man that engine is gorgeous, the whole car is too but that engine. You're doing the Mopar nation justice my friend. Edited May 16, 2014 by TFchronos
geras24 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Paul you are doing an amazing work here, the details in the engine are fantastic. The paint color is perfect for the car.
