bbowser Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Nice. I think that's the car that crowned him King, there were lots of wins in that one!
nitro norman Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Beautiful model! This car is one of my favorite race cars of all time. Every time I go through Darlington, I stop at the museum to look at the one there.
Belugawrx Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Cool I love that car Nice interior detailing too!!

Plasticfanatic Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Looks great and one of my favorite Petty cars. I saw your build process in another forum..the body rework and added race detail makes this a superb model...to the point that it has inspired me to restart and finaly finish my own that have been in storage for years!!! Once more great Petty model.
grt222 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Nice build, what did you use for paint, tires and wheels?
kilrathy10 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Great job.....Excellent work on this classic....
BirdWatcher Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Awesome! Are the hood pins aftermarket, or kit supplied?
MarkJ Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Nice build, what did you use for paint, tires and wheels? Tamiya paint. Tires and wheels are Plastic Performance Products
MarkJ Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Awesome! Are the hood pins aftermarket, or kit supplied? They are scratchbuilt from styrene sheet and rod and the pins are made from 32 guage wire.
moparfarmer Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 10 in a row...Very nice job on your model..Like how you've radiused the wheel wells to like the real deal..The color is killer on..Very clean and yes, probably the best car The King ever drove..Sure was successful
johnbuzzed Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I just found this one while going through the forum. That's one very nice, very clean build, with just enough added detail. I'd be proud to have that on my shelf. Looks like I'll have to get another S&M kit and take it from there. Did you incorporate any parts from the other Petty kits that are out there?
Old Coyote Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Beautiful build Mark ........... simply stunning

No, just the kit and some scratchbuilt parts from evergreen styrene.
nitro norman Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Again this is a great model. Would you mind telling me what color you painted the engine block. In some pics I've seen of this car it looks to be light blue. Thanks for your help. I plan to build this car in the near future.
