Dragline Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Is anyone going to comment on this monumental thing? I mean really? Check out round2.com for more if you are in the dark.. Bob
AZ Boy Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 They must've just added that in the last day or two. Good to see this one reissued!
John Teresi Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 So I guess my Original sealed kit is worthless now ……..dang Round 2
iBorg Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I've got a case of the last issues. We can only hope that finally the decals will be better than they have been in the past. I'd really love for someone with an Alps to recreate the decals for this car as well as the rear engined car.
Daddyfink Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I couldn't sell them for half the price at kit shows. So no, I am not excited.

As for the RED, which one are you talking about?
jbwelda Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 original issues are never "worthless", and will probably retain at least 80% of their current value, at least as soon as the dust from the reissue settles. it always happens like that. but my suggestion would be to open it and build it; it aint doing you any good all sealed up on some shelf jb

Dragline Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 This was re-issued before? When was that? I need to pay attention. Bob
VERNON Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 All I can say to Round 2 models is: THANK YOU, THANK YOU & THANK YOU! Vernon
michaelbaskett Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I think they are talking about the Wynns Jammer.... AFAIK the Wynns Charger Front Engine Dragster has NOT been re-issued before....
ZTony8 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Strange-I went to the Round 2 site and saw no mention of the Garlits car.
afx Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) Here is the link and the box art. Edited June 30, 2014 by afx
Dragline Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 I did some digging and found out this has never been reissued before. There are many people who are very happy to see this one. This is not to be confused with the Wynns Jammer FED. This is after that but before the Swamp Rat 1R. Think 1969/70? Bob
Daddyfink Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Yes, I am one of the confused! It is the early Jammer that I was thinking of. Cool, now I can get one to build!
iBorg Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 My fault......I was thinking the Jammer. I'll need to get one of these. I built it as a 12 year old. Maybe I'll paint it the right color this time. As for decals.....I'd like to see nice decals for both the Jammer and the first rear engined car. I've got a rear engined car that I'm working on. Scratch frame....and a lot of other scratch built pieces.
10thumbs Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Was this the model that had a clear plastic body? Wynn's Jammer rings a bell. I built that one as a kid, maybe '64 or '65. I remember painting the clear plastic from underneath with black gloss. Terrific! Michael
michaelbaskett Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 The Wynns Jammer (first release) did have a clear body, and a clear oil pan so you can see the crankshaft too....
nitro norman Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Slixx has decals for this car, but you have to paint the red stripe.
Dragline Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 This is not the clear bodied car from the mid 60's, this is late 60's early 70's just before Large Father went to the rear engine design. The last of his FED's if I'm not mistaken Bob
iBorg Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 This is the next to last front engined rail. The one that he got hurt in didn't have the full body. This is 12B see: http://www.garlits.com/swamprat12b.htm . The last FE car was by weird coincidence was SR 13 see: http://www.garlits.com/swamprat13.htm
1320wayne Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 For those of you that are apparently confused this kit is basically the same kit as the Carl Casper Young American kit.
